Hello friends I hope you are great, Steemit Learning Challenge-S27W1; Physiofit; Pain-free Challenge"

Task 1: First you have to share your knowledge about pain, it's type and pathology.

The pain is associated with sensory and emotional expression (burning aches or stabbing), it may happened due to mild or potential injuries. Its a source of primary signs and enabling the body protection from injury.

It can be responsible for enhanced the expression of fear, or depression. The main causes of pain can be through any illness, injuries or any damage in nerves.

Pain could be:

  • Acute (that acts for short-term)
  • Chronic (it continues for long-term duration)
  • The pain can be mild or sometimes it may become severe.

Let's break down short-term and long-term pain:

Acute Pain

It's also called short term pain as it exists only for short duration of time period from 3 to 6 months of only. For example any burn, fracture in bone or pain due to operation.

The main cause of this pain is due to any illness, injury or more specifically because of surgeries.

The short term pain is usually sharp, intense and generally localised to a certain point.

It can be overcome easily after medication, rest or physio therapy.

Chronic Pain

It's also called long term pain because it's duration usually lasts more than 6 months or more. It's causes are specifically any inflammation or due to damage in nerves. For example neuropathic pain and arthritis etc.

It can be feeling of aches, or thobb and hinder daily life routine.

The treatment most probably due to changing in lifestyle, medication and physio therapy.

Pathology

When there is any nerve injury it may leads to activating the nociceptors. In fact nociceptors the nerves ending determined the pain region. Hence these nerve endings then transmitted the signal to the brain region. Then chemicals are secreted which transmit the signal, which ultimately interceptor of the pain sensation.

Pathophysiology:

In case of injury in tissues there is inflammation which then release the meditators of the chemicals, though these chemicals there is activation of the nociceptor, these send messages to brain which is responsible of the feeling of pain perception.
Most common chemical mediators are histamine, Bradykinin and Prostaglandins.

The pain response is due to nociceptor pain, and other is due to inflammation response.

Now comes towards treatment which is done first by reducing of inflammation and then through the blockage of the pain signal.

Chronic pain pathophysiology

When there is complexity in interaction in immune system, nervous system and certain physiological factors. It may arise due to higher levels of sensitivity in nervous system and to pain stimulation., as the neural pathways shows synapses may become the reason of persistence pain. Other factors involving when there is long term inflammation in nervous system it also induced pain.

So, basically nerve injury due to any diseases or trauma, inflammation and certain genetic factors and stress anxiety are involved in chronic pain.

The treatment may be dependent on many factors such patients response for different treatments.

Task 2: You have to find a patient with the symptom and share history of injury or illness. You can also share your history too if your suffer from any injury recently or previously that hasn't treated yet.

Yeah I am going to share my own experience, after post cesarean I was suffering from low back pain. This was the common and frequently symptoms most of the women suffer after C section. I took a lot of medications and some time I ignored the pain as I have to manage a lot of things and I can't rest for prolong duration due to 3 kids, a lot of other things happening in my life.

But after months of ignoring the back pain, then my husband told me to do physiotherapy to relieve pain without medication. So, after his orthopaedic friend recommendation I perform few exercises, I didn't remember all but few of them were knee to chest exercise, back press and soft tissue of back muscles to relieve the pain.

I must say that I have history of low back pain from months that I didn't get treated properly because of that I can say that I was suffered from chronic low back pain that hurts a lot. Because I have to do house chores especially cooking in which I have to stand for more than 30 minutes or hours while cooking for guests.

Task 3: It would be better if you treat the patient pain by performing or apply above given exercises or tips, share videos or pictures while performing and then review after getting treatment.

These are the stretching exercises.

I found these exercises and obviously I will recommend it to others.

It's all about my today post.

I would like to invite my friends @m-fdo, @jannat12 and @iqrarana786 to take part in the challenge.

Task 1 (0.9/1.5)You shared good knowledge about pain, its types and pathology. You share good knowledge about pain, it's types and pathology. But it would be better if you add the pathology of chronic pain as well because if I asked about both types then you have to add the pathology of both types. You can add a bit more explanation about acute and chronic pain.
Task 2 (2.5/2.5)Yes, you're right after C section most of the women suffer from low back pain and it's early management is essential as it can affect activities if daily livings after that. I would suggest to perform knee to chest and back press but you have to pull the leg more close to your chest to stretch the back muscles.
Task 3 (5.5/6)I am glad that you understand the lesson and completed all the questions, You perform the exercise well and but it would be better to stretch each side for 20 seconds because less than 20 seconds is not enough. I really appreciate your efforts but it would be better to apply hot pack before performing exercises and then perform neck stretches. Secondly it would be better if you add a bit explanation about the exercises you perform.
Total Grade8.9/10

Thank you so much for kind review.
