Welcome Steemit Friends,

I'm again happy to participate in this week of Steemit Learning Challenge Season 27 Week 6. This challenge provides opportunities to learn, understand and health related educational aspects. In this week challenge we can share another new case which is different from the previous week challenge.
We can mention all the symptoms, causes, diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment in full detail. I will tennis elbow for this week challenge. It's a very common disease but find in most of the people who's work with hands continuously and do movements in which arm again and again twisted and twirl.

Task 1: Case Study

Case study:

My patient is 38 year old man who daily do 8 to 10 hours on computer. From last three months he has telling he was suffering from pain in right elbow. Patient told that the pain increases when he bends the wrist, holding something and lifting some things. He can also tell that when he was go to sleep in night, he can feel burning and swelling.

Diagnosis:

Early inspection confirmed that diagnosis was Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow). This condition occurs due to the swelling exterior part of the elbow. Occurs due to to much using it and repeatedly doing same things.

Causes:

Continuosly use of arm and wrist

Putting pressure when you write, typing to much and work more then potential.

Lifting weight in wrong way

Lighting things who's are curl and bend your wrist. He put strain on tendons.

Again and again handgrip

In this we can holding pen, paint brush and uses of different types of tools and playing racket.

Effect of age

When your tendon elasticity become decreases in the age of 35 to 50, it's become more common disease.

Task 2: Symptoms & Diagnosis

Important Symptoms:

Pain and burning in exterior side of elbow, especially in those occasions why trying to holding something.
Weakness in bending wrist and when you try to straight.
Increases of pain when you lifting heavy weight and things.
Sometimes little bit swelling and hardness in elbow.
Spreading pain in upper part of the hand.

Process of Diagnosis:

Palpation Test: When you pressing exterior elbow the pain increases.
Cozen’s Test: Patient try to straight wrist when someone try to block it. High pain increases which is the symptom of tennis elbow.
Mill’s Test: Pain increases when patient try to bend the wrist when full arm is straight.
Grip Strength Test: The effected hand feeling weak handgrip.
All the tests clearify that the patient has been Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow).

Task 3: Physiotherapy Management

Basic objective of treatment

Decreasing pain, finish the swelling, making muscles stronger and giving back the full ability to normal movement.

Changes in rest and daily habits:

Patient should be suggested that wrist and elbow don't be in same position for long time. Weight lifting and hard handgrip work should be avoided. Put towel or support under the hand, it will reduce the pressure.

4.Home Care & Posture Advice

Take a break during work.
Provides support using table when you work with mouse or laptop.
During sleeping closed the arm to your body.
Daily 15 to 20 minutes rest to the arm.

I personally perform to many of these exercises from better understanding the exercises and for you do in by yourself. When I'm doing these exercises I personally feeling very better in arm and elbow. After the 4 weeks doing these exercises patient almost recovered 70% to 80 %. Your handgrip is better and you can easily do work without any pain. Patient can easily perform their office work without any difficulty and pain.

I invited all the Steemit Friends to participate in this challenge and find their case and share amazing information about that case that we learn from it. I also invite some of my friends @abdullaht, @josepha, @maryam86 and @emmaboy23 to join this challenge.

Best Regards,
