A Random Guy From New Jersey's Corona Life—Rapturelives

in #poem5 years ago

I live in central jersey and work in Manhattan, local 94, 7 days on 7 days off. Places like New York and New Jersey people wear masks because it's kind of bad here yet the fear has been evaporating like it has all over the country. It's Not as bad as you might think though and It's hard to explain why. Social distancing is quite normal. People are exhausted from fear of getting sick and losing jobs to the point of numbness like the rest of the world.

We are adapting. It's normal to know people that got sick but not people that died at this stage. Of course it can change but who knows at this point. I've generally seen people get along with exceptions. For instance, cops arrested a woman for cutting in line outside the supermarket because only a certain amount of people are allowed inside. New jersey turnpike is like the autobahn since the police ain't wasting time for speeders, it's awesome. Homeless are insane right now spitting on cars if you don't give them money because they're growing desperate. And fender benders are a joke, just drive away lol. There's not as many assholes like you might imagine. I say good morning to people more and they say it to me. I'm tired of politics because it doesn't matter much with stronger basic fears taking over. I wish both sides would get along till at least September then talk shit again for 2 months before the election. I don't care about the news because it's always political and it's making me sick. I try not to yell at my kids just in case. I'm extra kind to my parents just in case. I'm beating games I never finished just in case. I'm finishing books I never finished just in case. I'm catching up with old friends because I'm bored and just in case. I talk to my wife more and actually listen to what she's saying instead of pretending to just in case. And I'm posting my microscopic corona life situation just in case.
