My Poem: The Heartbreak of letting go

in #poetry6 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing fine?

Urrm..., I wanna do something a bit different, in line with dsw. You may choose to call it a 100 words poetry challenge with rhymes.

Let's see how I can poetically express myself with rhyming words (ending with same sound, yet within the word length).

It's titled, "Letting go". It has an element of fiction, actually I don't like heartbreaks, so I try my possible best to steer clear of them, haha... Just kidding

I am overwhelmed with pain
Your hurt me again and again
All you wanted was your gain
As you love to see me complain

Yes, all our love was in vain
Despite I never wanted this relationship to wain
I never knew your thoughts were full of disdain
Now they've become real and plain

But now, I must let go
I know it's difficult for me to flow
I soliloquized while I steered through the window
"To whom shall my heart run to?"

Though it may hurt, I must let go
Though the memories may seem to be inerasable as my scars and fate, I'm letting go

The entirety of our lives, I believe are in Flux (as I once read somewhere) in all moments, facets and experiences.

Therefore, letting go, despite how cumbersome, complex or difficult it may seem to be is quite an important phase of that process.

The more we let go, the closer we are to walking in the path of peace and freedom.
