! POEM ! ENGLAND'S FINEST COUNTY -SURREY !

Rolling hills and fields of green
The loveliest scenery I've ever seen
There's lots to see and plenty to do
It's a wonderful place, quite historical too

            Mother nature abounds with the magic she makes
            Streams full of trout and shimmering lakes
            Woods and wildlife at every turn
            Wild flowers and butterflies, fungi and fern

            To get up early and don warm boots
            Go down to the river amongst ducklings and coots
            Is always a wonder I love to renew
            To see pearls of moisture masquerading as dew

            Gathering blackberries for crumbles and pies
            An innocent pleasure as the summer dies
            Then hazel and chestnuts to roast by the fire
            A pastime of which I could never tire

            Out in the countryside feeling so free
            With peace all around is contentment for me
            To meander forever among all that is good
            I'd stay there for always if only I could

            So please take your time and try not to hurry
            If you have the chance to explore glorious Surrey
            After a few tranquil rambles you'll surely agree
            The county of Surrey is the best place to be
