Upon entry to my Sphere (Day 40 of 100 -- poetry challenge)
and find my swelling
part the gate of my
sphere
and seed the soil of
possibilities
that which you desire
a Rod
a Flame
a Cup
Smoke my peaks
with a puff to the pyre
sigil sighs
a crooked eye
languidly lunging
lustfully licking
the scarlet child
fat of the land
fiercely feasting
exalted
by our hands

For those who had not seen, the Priestess Niish in the Temple™ picture has been used once before in this challenge, in Dawn (II). I really like this image, it's so cute.
It also fits that it is the same image in both, as both poems are about the alchemical union.
You know, I still shake my head over the fact that in Donald Michael Kraig's Modern Magick, which has only 11 lessons, and is almost entirely Kabballistic and Hermetically-based, there's an entire chapter, out of 11, to describing Tantric Magic, or rather, just training you to do tantric sex :D
I mean, and to tie it to "dawn", sex is a very big part of the human existence, even if we look at it purely in terms of purpose. It is an act of creation which we have access to, which no matter how bad you are at writing, or leaving a legacy of the mind otherwise, is generally open to you, as a human. Adam walked the Garden of Eden and Named all things, but after Adam and Eve had been sent out of the Garden, it was through procreation that they manifested their divine spark. And even look at it - "procreation". Hm.
But yes, this is very much an alchemical poem. With the table that is set, that brings to mind the Magician tarot card, and the capitalized Rod, Flame, and Cup, how can one miss it?
You're mixing your energies with another's. A person? A spirit? Does it really matter?
But yes, that imagery of parting your sphere, and seeding you, outright calling forth desire? And that's before we even get to this stanza:
Where unlike Dawn, is pretty darn explicit.
And yet, the scarlet child can be a concept of magic, not a literal being, and this union can be metaphoric as well. Or it can be a literal union leading to a metaphoric joining of energies, of beings.
But, at the end of the day, it's about love. Physical? Doesn't really matter one way or the other. It's about a union. It's about creation. It's about affecting change, and being changed, in turn.
Smoking.
Quite an erotic undertone on this one, or maybe that's just my mind taking me places haha. But then expressed in this almost medieval language, it takes on a different significance, ritualistic and sorcerous. Reminds me a little of the 'Dessicant' piece you wrote the other day.

I really need someone that can do back-end stuff for me, all my energy gets bound up in creating stuff. It's actually overwhelming to think about. I’ve offered a couple people half of anything earned (this includes getting my paintings and fiber work into shops and galleries) to just do that stuff for me, still no takers, sadly.
