The First Time I Have Ever Seen a Spider Web with Tiny Icicles on It! Have You?
I just saw these today at the corners of my gazebo from my backyard, so I had to take a picture of them, ok, several pictures...and write a poem.
New Lace:
An old big web,
Too thin to see,
Stood there for an eternity.
I passed it by many a time.
Unknowing, never caught my eye...
Until one morning, through the frost,
When my eye was a bit lost,
My sleeping vision turned awake,
When I saw how much it takes,
For the Master web to make.
My sleepy eyes then turned aflame,
Opened wide, when the light came,
And lighted up the wooden frame.
The rays reflected all the blades
The pyramids of ice, the shades,
A deadly trap, turned into beauty,
Yet trapping still part of it's duty,
It traps the wind that passes through,
I hear it scream through crystals blue.
But insects which found death in strings,
Won't find it until next Spring.
Until then the web still shines,
Although the maker, dead, now whines.
But when the master made its grace,
With his eight hands, four eyes and fangs,
There were no icicles in place.
But darkness still yelled in delight,
At Master's craftsmanship and might,
As he spun the web, so tight,
And now he sits frozen with blight.
Although the spider now is gone,
The beauty grows and it lives on.
There was beauty from the start,
But Winter came, and did its part,
And now the Master from his grave,
Sees what he and the frost made.
'Til we meet again!
P.S.: I saw you guys really enjoyed my "Circus: Magic or Monster?" post, thanks a lot for all your votes, you really surprised me with those numbers!
Very beautiful sharing in here, thank you as I am always very grateful to come across patterns of frost magic and, here in this case, the ensuing results.
All for one and one for all! Namaste :)
Winter has a special kind of beauty to it, I never get tired of it :D
wooo This very nice photo
Thanks, I was amazed myself when I saw it first too
Great poem I love the story it tells. And I like the photos also. They almost looke like paintings.
I'm glad you like both, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
