The Poetry Appreciation Contest #2 (10sbd Prizes)
This is @ajremy with the announcement of the Poetic-surge Poetry Appreciation Contest.
Last week @tony-duke held the second edition of the Poetic-surge Poetry Contest and we received a few very good entries (9 in total) which was a decline from the previous week. Yet, It was very hard for us to pick our winners and we had to give special mention prizes. In the end, here is the poem that won the contest and the prize of 5sbd
Within Me by @eliasjay
Am still young as the rivers that flow
Chasing the wild which wanes
Though the blossom is all but show
That which is sweet also pains
Goodness wears the garment same as darkness
Man tries hard but the land is barren
When none can, then only him can harness
As the sky is large, so my eyes are laden
Even as am saddled across on the ferry
My sleep is sweet as the mulberry
The light of hope burns in glee
For that which I seek lies here in me
Now for the poetry appreciation contest all you have to do is appreciate (explain that poem and you stand a chance to win. Your appreciation can come in various forms. You could write an essay explaining or breaking down the poem line by line, a poem that is a derivative from that poem, a picture or pictures that depict what the poem is trying to say, a story that depicts the poem or even a drawing or artwork that depicts the poem. Whatever form you choose to appreciate by his poem is acceptable. So this contest is open to Poets, Writers, Photographers, artists, graphic artists and literally everyone who wants to try their hands on appreciating or explaining this poem
