Bluff Avenue

I setup the Steemit.com PC Poker League over at bluffave.com which offers free software to host a poker league. It's pretty slick, for free. It has quite a robust social media aspect to it as well allowing blog post, a forum, not to mention a Leaderboard as well, all while displaying Steemit.com propaganda to every addicted poker player around the world. :)

If we're able to build up a sizable Community there and get some decent sized payouts for tournaments from post (help us by upvoting and spreading the word!), then this could not only be a lot of fun for a lot of us that play poker, but bring in some new people to the Steemit community along the way.

Questions

Feel free to ask any questions below. In the future I will setup a chat room in https://steemit.chat for immediate questions related to an upcoming or ongoing tournament.

After signing up you will be given $100 (in fake on-site money) with which you can use to buy into tournaments. The current plan is that we will have 10 tournaments with a $10 entry fee. Each tournament will have it's own individual payout to the winner(s) and the points will be tallied on the Leaderboard.

At the end of the 10 game period the leader(s) of that 10 game session will be rewarded an additional amount that is TBD by post rewards and any donations received. More details to come.

Prizes

All liquid rewards from post concerning the Steemit.com PC Poker League will be given away as prizes in each tournament. Prizes and tournament structures (which may change) will be posted on The League page prior to signing up as well as here on Steemit.

Due to the random nature of post rewards on Steemit, the prizes available to each tournament will/may vary. As The League grows, I expect the prizes to grow proportionally.

Admins

Right now myself (@tuck-fheman) and @bigpchef are running The League but we will likely need additional help in the very near future. If you're interested in helping, please let me know below. I can't promise anything, but I will consider everyone. Someone who is good with logos/artwork would be much appreciated (and paid)!

If things take off like I hope, additional spots may be available for people who can document tournament results for blogs to promote The League. More details to come.

Remember, even donkeys and lucksacks win every once in a while. We may even have a little something for just showing up for a game (which sounds like a great idea, so yeah, we will do that!).

I didn't want to have to say it, but in this age of marketing ...

If we receive enough upvotes on post, we could have the entire weeks reward pool available for prizes at our tournaments! Your grandma could win like $8,000 or something! The prize pool could be, oh I don't know, a Billion dollars maybe, you never know, it could happen.

Sound like fun! My poker skills are a bit rusty, but I will dust them off!

The rustier my competition is the better! ;)

Aha! You are already underestimating me! My strategy is working!

(Should I have posted that?)

@tuck-fheman - This sounds very interesting. We are dedicated to curating the best fantasy sports games from around Steemit, and while this is not a "sport" per se, I believe it does deserve to be recognized. Followed, Upvoted, ReSteemed, and posted to our dedicated steemit fantasy sports facebook page.

Great, thank you.

Who's up for a test game in a bit? I'll throw 10 SBD into the pot just to get some peeps to run a test tourney and see how things go. We did one earlier, but it was just with 2 people.

There are several settings I'd like to try before we run a real tourney.

Who's up for it?

Sign me up for the test game! Would love to get into some community poker

Games posted, join up. As soon as we have at least 4-6 I'll start the tourney.

@nenad-ristic, @crossedsteems, @mansa-illz, @shote.said, @the-dagda, @swolesome

anyone want to help test, please join the Test Tournament #2 on the league page. Thanks!

We have 4, going to start up this test tourney here shortly. Join if you want!

Need a cool logo, who's in? How much?

I can make one, and I don't know what does 2 STEEM sound like?

Upon approval, yes 2 STEEM is more than fair as long as it's better than what I have so far here ... http://www.bluffave.com/steemit

This is one of my ideas. Maybe you want it in color or no text on cards?

I like this one, but instead of Bluff Avenue, can you put "Steemit Poker League" across the card, with Steemit and Poker League centered under it?

Something like this?

If you have any other requests leave them here and I'll get back to you int he morning.(It's late here in Europe)

Or something like this?

If you want maybe only a single chip with steemit logo?

When do we start?

Next week. We will have a test game prior to the 1st tourney to allow everyone to familiarize themselves with the software. Stay tuned!

Signed. Give me some balance and I will going to register to the beta tourney.

You want a logo? I could make you one :)

Sure, if you can do better than what we already have go for it!

Just signed up there now.

I'm game! I also have design and coding skills, and am interested in learning more about what you're looking for. Let me know!

I received $500 fake money. Smoke that, I am already 5 times richer... Just waiting for it to hit $10 per fake money now.
Also, please, try to find a suitable time for Europeans as well. The timing might be a big concern, tho...

What's a good time?

I am freelancing, so pretty much anything fits me as long as it is not 4 am. But I guess the best is US morning, Europe evening... at least to me. 8 pm GMT for example. However, I would make every round suitable for a different time zone, so that everyone would get a chance to play at least in some. Also, depends where is the majority of players are. You always have to adjust to the majority.

Yeah I think at least 2+ games each day we host tourney's would be a good idea, if there are enough from each time zone to fill a table.

If we get enough Euro players, we can just split it off into a Euro League. I think that would be much better. Then we have the top players from both Leagues play for a final tourney to determine the champ.

#dreams

We'll see how it goes and who signs up. So far we have 18 members, let's see how many show up to play the first tourney. ;)

18 is quite a lot, it's like what, 9 times higher than your first try? lol
It would be ideal to have 27 players per tourney. it would not take too much time and yet it would not only be pure luck. we shall wait and see, tho.
With some nice marketing, it might become the best freeroll in the poker's history, attracting thousands of players. Later, you can contact some poker rooms and pitch them this idea #biggerdreams

I dont know, somehow I cant think of anything better, it is 2AM though.
