President Mohammadu Buhari on Saturday, 5th of may threw more lights on his ambition, motivation and enthusiasm behind his decisions to go for re-election comes 2019 presidential election in Nigeria.
In any free and fair election, what determines the winner and the loser is based on their pedigree and antecedents.
Your pedigree will talk about your foundation, your track records, where you are coming from and how you have used your position in the past for the betterment of all in relation to your future ambition.
Your antecedents will emphasize more on your map out strategies and methodologies towards delivering the needs and demands of the people, and honestly that is what differentiates the winer from the loser in any free and fair election.
Looking at his pedigree as a formal military ruler followed by his forcefully retirement from the army and his come back to active politics in 2003, 2007, 20011 and finally in 2015 presidential election which made him the president of the federal republic of Nigeria based on his campaign promises which was his antecedents, one could say without any doubt that Mr President deserve a second term or not.
But this can only be determined through his achievements so far as the commander and chief of the federal republic of Nigeria since he took over from his predecessor in 2015, which will serves as a tracks records for everybody to see and acknowledged. That is what determines whether to win or to lose in any public offices.
He told Nigerians that passion to serve and not for personal gains happened to be his motivation into politics and why he is seeking for re-election which includes ensuring equity, Justice and fairness .
Emphasizing on these three objectives or categories will provide answers to whether or not Mr President has fulfilled his political promises.
EQUITY :
In my definition, equity simply means equal opportunity and respects to all citizens irrespective of their tribes, religious background, academic qualifications ,sex, etc.
JUSTICE :
Justice mean that equal judgement should be given to all citizens irrespective of their political backgrounds, position in the society or economic might .
FAIRNESS :
Fairness mean equal playing ground should be given to everyone, no partiality .
Fellow Steemians, going by the above three objectives which Mr President emphasized on , one can determine whether he deserves the second term in the office because these were some of his political promises in 2015 presidential election.
A regime where national cakes and consensus is been giving to a company or individual based on partisan or personal benefits and not by merits.
A regime where political appointments are giving base on tribalism and not on merits.
A regime where one stoled to feed her hungry child and was condemned to death, but another stoled millions of naira and was given a political appointments and no law was against him or her.
A regime where some citizens are being marginalized because they are from some parts of the country and some groups are tagged, "terrorists " because they are agitating for what they believe in.
A regime where laws are being made to go against some company(s) businesses and industries because the majority involved are from a particular tribes .
A regime where the real terrorists are being supported by the government whilst others go around killing innocent citizens in there own farms, churches and in their communities and nothing is being done about it because the affected individual and communities are from a particular tribes and religion.
Where then is the Equity, Justice and Fairness?
Mr President these and many other issues happening under your regime will determine whether or not Nigerians will abandon there jobs and businesses to vote for you comes February 2019 presidential election or they will take the election day as another public holidays to rest and enjoy the day with there families and loved ones.
