A local Denver-area woman was attacked and sexually assaulted while walking her dog in the early hours of the morning last Wednesday, along the Platte River Trail. She was able to get away and run for help after the attacker lost his glasses and couldn't see. A good Samaritan on a bike tracked down the attacker and he was arrested. Turns out he has quite the past when it comes to sexual assault cases. You can read the article from the Denver Post here.

A girl I know from my serving days commented "WHY do we let repeat sex offenders back on the streets???" Simplest answer: money. If you haven't noticed yet, or even cared to look, government doesn't do a very good job at keeping bad people out of the public, and this is because there is no money to be made in it. For example, just look at ALL the rape test kits sitting on shelves, never tested. Thousands upon thousands of them. Why aren't they trying to lock up these bad people? They have no issues locking up drug dealers and drug users, but why is that? Oh yeah, they are a cash cow to not only the local PD, but the prison industrial complex which needs inmates to fill their prisons so they can keep taxing the public for it.

It's easy work to pull over a poor minority, search his car, find a gram of plant matter, and send him off to the pen, knowing he has no money to defend himself and it'll be a slam dunk case.

Not the same with sexual assault cases. There is actual detective work that needs to be done, and that can be difficult, expensive, and time consuming. So much so, that they just don't do it. If it doesn't line their pockets with green, you can expect not to get any restitution from your attacker or the state.

So I wrote a little message on her post, saying how I hope her friend can overcome this situation and that she has a fast and easy recovery, while also talking a little bit about what I wrote above.

She came back with this gem: " I wish we all got to pick where our tax $ went"

Oh really? Do you now? Well congrats, you're a voluntaryist. Who could ever imagine an economic system so insane, so diabolical, where humans could spend their own money how they wanted??? I thought I had a convert on my hands...

Literally 3 minutes later, she posts this...
