RNC Releases Their Draft Policy Platform for 2024 Election

After Donald Trump rejected the “Project 2025,” a collection of right-wing policy proposals from the Heritage Foundation to completely reshape the federal government and consolidate executive power under Donald Trump, the Republican National Committee on Monday advanced a suspiciously similar “draft policy platform” calling for massive deportation of millions of immigrants, shutting down the US Department of Education, ending the electric vehicle mandate, embracing tariffs that will supercharge inflation, ending the “weaponization” of the Department of Justice, implementing measures to “secure” our elections - including voter ID, highly sophisticated paper ballots, proof of citizenship, and same day voting, and building a "Great Iron Dome" over the United States.

So, they wanna deport millions of immigrants (both legal and undocumented) en masse, do they? Now, I’m sure they realize “mass deportations” will be a difficult task, so obviously, “detention camps” will need to be set up in the meantime to hold detainees. Actually, that might work out quite well for Republican politicians and their corporate pals, who could then order detainees to become free laborers in corporate factories. Hell, all it takes is a catchy little slogan like “Work Sets You Free!” I don’t think anyone’s used that slogan before, have they? Hell, they could even hire South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as a guard.

Of course, one problem MAGAs probably haven’t considered is “exactly where in the hell do they plan to eventually deport these immigrants?” After all, not all immigrants are from the same country. On the other hand, I suppose as far as MAGAs are concerned, every immigrant is a “Mexican.” Now, I’m sure MAGAs will find deporting millions of immigrants to be just loads of fun - at least until wealthy donors begin to realize all "the help" has disappeared from their corporate farms and fancy country clubs. Oops!

And let us not forget the MAGA genius idea of building a "Great Iron Dome over the United States.” Now, let me guess, “Mexico is gonna pay for it all, right?” Actually, I think they may have misspelled “Iron Dome.” I mean, if MAGAs are involved in the project, that “Iron Dome” will, in reality, be more like an “Iron Dumb” over the US. Oddly, for some reason, I thought NORAD already had that covered, but then I remembered all NORAD is really responsible for is “tracking Santa’s sleigh” on Christmas Eve.”

The irony is, even though “Project 2025” was written and promoted primarily by many of his closet aids, Donald Trump is now claiming he has nothing to do with it. And I get why he feels that way. After all, it does sound a helluva lot better in the original German. I think rather than call it “Project 2025,” they should call it something that accurately describes what the program really is. You know, like “Project 1935.” Ever the constitutionalists, these MAGAs stand behind the 14th Amendment, which guarantees no person shall be denied life, liberty, or property without due process. That is unless you’re a woman, an immigrant, or a person of color.
