Most people believe that private individuals and businesses can't provide healthcare without the government help. The truth is, that is how it was done before the government was involved. Back in the 1950's, you would be able to see the doctor for $3 and the doctor would come to your house for $5. Health costs were way less expensive before the government was involved. The reason is because there was a market price set on healthcare. When the government gets involved, they become the middleman between you and your doctor. We all know that Barrack Obama passed the "Affordable Care Act" and worked really hard on making healthcare affordable for the average person. The result was the complete opposite effect and it usually is when the government is involved. People lost their coverage, their doctors, and their premiums went through the roof. More people are having issues affording to pay for healthcare. Sure, there are the few people who benefit, but the majority lose.

Expose the corruption

Unfortunately, healthcare is way more complicated than just providing people insurance. If you want to fix healthcare you need to take a deep look into government agencies such as the FDA. The US Food and Drug Administration has prevented useful innovations in medicine from being approved. Not only have they prevented medicine, they rush through dangerous medications that hurt people. All the commercials we see on television advertise us drugs with many harmful side effects, most of them include suicide. I don't understand how you can promote a medicine that is supposed to prevent depression, yet may cause suicidal thoughts. The system is completely backward, and from what I can see is always the case when the government hands are pulling the strings. There are many alternative healthcare options that have shown to have better results than traditional medicine.

Real medicine

Dr. Burzynski is a well-known doctor, who found a solution to curing cancer. He figured out that people with cancer were missing peptides within their blood. Peptides are small pieces of protein. Burzynski was able to create a non-toxic solution called Antineoplaston, that he would inject into cancer patients. He achieved results that would put chemotherapy to shame. The FDA didn't like this very much, so they made it very hard for Dr. Burzynski to practice medicine. They told him that he could only trial his medicine on cancer patients with terminal brain cancer. He ended up curing many people who didn't have long to live. The FDA ended up stating that his medicine was non-toxic but had no health benefit and was to be made illegal. They tried to put Dr. Burzynski in jail over this. I highly recommend researching his work.

Change the world

Recently, I read an article explaining how many doctors are moving away from insurance companies. One doctor retired, but someone called and asked if the doctor would come over and provide a check up. After going to their house, he realized he enjoyed helping people without dealing with insurance companies and all the hassle. He started a medical practice and now charges patients a minimal monthly fee for basic healthcare. They are able to use their doctor whenever they want, without copays. The doctor will even allow you to use Facetime for an appointment. This makes coverage way less expensive for the average person, it removes stress from the doctor and benefits both parties.

It takes one person to change things.

I really believe stories like these prove that medical care should be in the hands of the individual and not micro-managed by the government. Anytime the government begins providing services, they create monopolies, distort the market, create shortages, and higher costs. The market always provides the best quality at the lowest cost. Great examples are how Amazon took out brick and mortar stores, Uber replaced taxi cabs, Airbnb provided a better service than hotels, Apple computers changed the mobile market, and the list goes on, internet colleges made worthless degrees affordable. Since we've allowed the market to provide these services it's only made our lives easier. The government would never be able to accomplish what the free and open market can. People are smart, people think outside the box, people move us into the future, not the government. There is always a better way, you just have to allow the average person to invent it. The government never innovates unless it is forced to by its citizens. How many people enjoy the Department of Motor Vehicles, getting a passport, or anything else that has to be provided through the government?
