Suddenly political. Trump wakes America up with crashing symbals and bullhorns

Close your eyes.
(Unless you’re driving as you read this, in which case, WHY ARE YOU READING AND DRIVING?)
For the rest of us, close your eyes… and take a moment to remember what life was like- pre-2016 the beginning of what historians* will one day call “The Great Descent Into Oblivion”.
*(By “historians”, I mean the eventual advanced extraterrestrial alien life forms, that will pour through our rubble, to find out how humans ceased to exist on this planet).
So, take a deep breath. Picture yourself pre-2016.
Spend a moment LIVING there. BEING there.
Your heart rate slows, your level of general anxiety drops by about 17,000 %, your teeth aren’t as loose. You’re not as cold inside of your bones. David Bowie still sings, Ali fights on. We all had our problems, but had NO IDEA how good we had it.
We lived in a world where if: a candidate for our highest office openly bragged about committing sexual assault, on tape and film, in front of witnesses, it would spell the end of that person.
We lived in a world where US presidents didn’t fully support and publicly endorse pedophiles. Or passionately extol the virtues of Nazis, murderers, and guys who punch their wives. They didn’t attempt to start nuclear wars through twitter, or do everything they can think of to paint a large, red target on America.
Oh, my dear, deeply cherished, adored, and beloved readers, I wish I could keep us here, it feels so SAFE, and normal, and warm.
But we open our eyes to the cold harsh reality of 2017 and 2018.
We see Trump’s New Order.
We see parents and children torn from each other’s weeping grasp by ICE agents. We see YouTube videos of people spewing torrents of racism as if it’s acceptable behavior. We see the afterimages of Heather Heyer being murdered by psychotic Nazi animals, who were immediately and publicly defended and extolled by a madman. We see our country being led by a racist who emboldens other racists, and encourages the very worst among us, to act exactly like the very worst among us. A twisted ferret of a man, consumed by greed who gives a gift of 1/6th of the US economy to himself and the top .05% richest people in the US.
Donald Trump is terrible person, a terrible husband, and the worst possible example of all known things. A Fame-Vampire with an unquenchable thirst. Devoid of empathy, or even a trace of humanity. Every word from his mouth a halitosis flavored lie, every action and deed plotted to the benefit of only one, and to the detriment of almost all.
2018, can change all of this and “restore balance”. Our vote is all we have left. Our absolute very last currency.
Justice, truth and SANITY are all things we NEED to be restored. The roof over our heads in the home of a decent society.
We just need to want it bad enough.
I for one, can say I do.
