A war ridden place, Kashmir’s solution is only through dialogue

in #politics6 years ago

Kashmir has been going through chaos since the dawn of nation split between Indian and Pakistan.

However recent attacks in Pulwama has made dialogue not seem like an option, at least that’s according the Indian side who claims the attack has been carried out by Pakistan.

With no evidence to point towards whether it was Pakistan or not, the India media has been quick to resort to developing tactics in order to go to war with Pakistan, because clearly that isn’t the job of the Indian army.

Tensions have also been an all time high during the ICJ where India accuses Pakistan of the unjustified killing of Kulbhushan Jadev who was an Indian spy selling secrets to India which caused the deaths of many Pakistanis.

But hey if it isn’t Indian, does it matter?

Back to Kashmir

Kashmir has its own little war going on between the local Kashmiris and the Indian administered paramilitary group occupying Kashmir.

The paramilitary forces have been killing Kashmiris for as long as I can remember often turning ordinary citizens into terrorists at the first sign of resistance. Which makes them justified in putting them down, when in fact it’s the opposite.

Whenever Kashmiris try to fight for their survival, they are met with bullets and threats to families. They have been oppressed to such an extent they resort to Militancy, as they believe it would end their problems.

However violence creates more problems and doesn’t end it, something which the Indian media doesn’t understand and doesn’t want its viewers to understand.

By speaking we can outline the complexities and issues here, therefore this increases the chances of a good long term solution being brought up. That is only possible if both parties are willing to come to the table, it’s only one side that is willing to at the moment.

The moment a war starts, the people who started are protected and the people who didn’t are always caught in the crossfire.
