THE GIANT OF AFRICA

Africa is so richly blessed with every good thing God created!
All the natural resources that are beneficial to man are in Africa!

Africa has the human capital more than most continents in the world, no thanks to lack of education on birth control, culture of multiple wives, and tradition.
Africa is not ranked among the continents that are bedeviled with natural disasters such as EARTHQUAKES, TSUNAMIS, CYCLONES, WILD FIRES, or even HURRICANES! These natural disasters happens to other continents but they soon shake it off and continue their lives! They rebuild and move on as if nothing happened.

I will use three countries in Africa as an example or a case study!

NIGERIA, SOUTH AFRICA AND ZAMBIA.

We in Africa, we create our own natural disaster!

From RELIGION, TRIBAL SUPRIMACY, POLITICAL SEAT-TIGHT IN POWER, to CORRUPTION (official and traditional), BIGOTRY and IMPUNITY.

We never recover from our own disaster, we rather grow in it. The younger ones learning from the older ones who never retires! We even modify, and digitalise it.
In some African countries now, the only way to survive is just to be corrupt!

Those who are in public offices find ways to enrich themselves at the expence of the masses, while those in the private sectors cut corners in whatever ways to maximize profit still at the expense of the same masses.

The result is that those who are so traumatized, cheated, oppressed take up arms in the name of agitations, ethnic rivalries and religious struggles!

While the government take these struggles as a political tool to syphone more money from the system, use the ethnic struggle as a campaign agenda to enthrench themselves.

The system is so cabalized, woven together that if an angel should come down to correct the ills, that angel will forget his name and become corrupt!

Nigeria is the biggest most populated black nation on earth!
Nigeria has almost all the mineral resources, and so blessed with human resources.

The people are so intelligent and smart and educated, but they have never been blessed with a good leader. They have a recycling bunch of leaders who have dominated the corridors of power since over 50years ago.
Therefore, their thoughts, way of governance, approach to development and management of resources are archaic and pre-analogue!

There is so much money in Nigeria that people have stolen and stolen, it is so much that the amount of stolen fund cannot be counted in the national currency, you can only quantify it in the U.S dollars!

One government comes with their chronies, steal for 8years and leave the stage for another group to device newer ways of converting the national wealth to themselves!

The average Nigerian citizen has no trust in government and has no hope for the future!

The average citizen has to provide his own security, build his personal borehole to get water, construct his own road, educate his own child in the private school and medicate himself! No hope in government. This just to say but a few.
Can we refer to a country like the above as the giant of Africa?

South Africa is one of the youngest democracy in Africa. The presence of the white indegenes have made development different and life more attractive than other parts of Africa. But since the independence of South Africa, has the nation been developing generally or deteriorating? Judge by yourself. See my post on South African politics!

With the Xenophobic attacks on other Africans, the high crime rate which is known to the whole world the unstable economic activities; Will you consider South Africa as the giant of Africa?

My next country of consideration is Zambia. This little country mostly thrive on tourism! Apart from Copper/Cobalt which is one of the things they are rich in, they are not an oil producing nation neither are they special in any way. But their currency, the 'kwacha' is doing better in the international market than most African countries!

They have relative peace compared to nations of insurgencies and agitations. They are not a terror- ridden country!

One thing I know about Zambia, is that the President handed over his country to God to help Him!
Is this the case of 'WHEN THE RIGHTEOUS ARE IN AUTHORITY, THE PEOPLE REJOICE?'

To me, I believe that the little DAVID with just five smooth stones in a sling is to be feared more than the heavy Goliath with a coat of mail and sword like weaver's beam going to fall!

Because a living DOG is better than a dead LION.
