President Trump's State Of The Union Address | True News

in #politics7 years ago

On January 30th, 2018, President Donald Trump gave his State Of The Union Address before a sea of cheering Republicans and resentful sour-faced Democrat politicians who were visibly disgruntled over the record low black unemployment rate.

The unemployment rate of blacks in USA is a sign of discrimination which must be abolished. It doesn't matter the color of our skin nor of our hair, it doesn't matter our races, it should be written in our hearts that we are one.

I agree. I don't believe in hyphenated Americans. Americans are American. Not White Americans or Black American. I have never been able to find the black community or hispanic community on a map. I don't understand how the hispanic people who live next door to me are in a different community than I am. We get our water from the same pipe, we shop at the same store, our kids go to the same school, we get our mail at the same mailbox but I am supposed to think we are somehow in "different communities" based on nothing other than the amount of pigment in ones skin.

It's very good news to support the freedom fighterd

Not once did I hear the President say "Taxation is theft." A great opportunity was missed I think.

From a fellow Canadian who is currently living in China, I'd like to thank you for your analysis of Trump's State of the Union address.

I particularly liked your reference and mention of the "complexity of Presidential language has had to decline over the years...".

I recently taught an American History course to my high school students in China and had them compare President Lincolns' Inaugural Address of March 4, 1861 with the Inaugural Address of President Trump from January 20, 2017. The language is accutely more complex (as you eluded to), a couple of excerpts:

Apprehension seems to exist among the people of the Southern States that by the accession of a Republican Administration their property and their peace and personal security are to be endangered. There has never been any reasonable cause for such apprehension. Indeed, the most ample evidence to the contrary has all the while existed and been open to their inspection. It is found in nearly all the published speeches of him who now addresses you. I do but quote from one of those speeches when I declare that—
I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.

From questions of this class spring all our constitutional controversies, and we divide upon them into majorities and minorities. If the minority will not acquiesce, the majority must, or the Government must cease. There is no other alternative, for continuing the Government is acquiescence on one side or the other. If a minority in such case will secede rather than acquiesce, they make a precedent which in turn will divide and ruin them, for a minority of their own will secede from them whenever a majority refuses to be controlled by such minority. For instance, why may not any portion of a new confederacy a year or two hence arbitrarily secede again, precisely as portions of the present Union now claim to secede from it? All who cherish disunion sentiments are now being educated to the exact temper of doing this.

Surprisingly, though, my grade 11 students (for whom English is not even their first language) did manage to, for the large part, decipher its underlying meanings - something I'm not so convinced that even their American counterparts could easily replicate.

Merci!

I think this is true. It has been a long process but I think we are finally shifting the bell curve to the right. I started out as a leftist by cultural default. But I always had a true desire to solve problems. I hate misery and want to stomp it out. I was smart enough to figure out what really solves problems, then I was smart enough to realize, leftist ideals work the opposite as to what they claim to fix. This process has been happening to smart people for a long time. Restoration Weekend was attended by many people who took that path. But like Stefan says, now we are seeing the average person who does not have first hand experience dealing with these issues. Start to realize the Democrat Idea's do not solve problems.
It reminds me of trying to get the Police to put a 72 hour hold on a loved one. Everyone who was around the person on a regular basis knew they were off their meds and not acting right. But the person knows why the Police are there and can pull it together long enough to answer basic questions, so the cops say, they look OK to us and leave. Then as time passes, the behavior gets more and more bizarre until they go completely Coo Coo. This time when the Police come, they take one look at the behavior and say OK, time to strap this one to a gurney and take a ride to Acute Psych Unit.
That's the point the left is reaching. It is becoming glaringly clear that they are Coo Coo. Even to the most casual observer.

Where will the Public Sector Labor Unions go if the Democrats continue to implode. Unless they have an alternative source of power the unions will fight to the death to keep the Democrats in power. This could be real trouble. We have seen the extent bureaucrats will go when they simply disagree with the President. Just imagine what they would do if their primary source of power were to be threatened.
Big bucks in the Abortion Mill Industry depend on continued protection of Democrats. Do you think all the people killing babies and selling the parts are going to just give up all that money and walk away. I don't think so.
