The Invention and Importance of Zero
The greatest revolution in human history was not brought about by a sword, gunpowder, or atomic bomb, but by a small mathematical number, "Zero".
Apparently, this circle symbolizes "Nothingness", but when it connects with a number, it takes it from the floor to the throne. Before the invention of zero, human thinking was limited, counting was difficult, and the pace of development was slow.
But as soon as man learned to turn "nothing" into "power", the doors of science, technology, and economy opened. If today's man has been able to step on the moon or live in the virtual world of the Internet, then it is a miracle of this age. But this story is not limited to mathematics books; it is also the greatest formula for your personal life and success.
Think, you are that basic number in yourself, that is "one" (1), and your abilities, your knowledge, your network, and your assets are the "zeros" that you keep adding to yourself. A single "one" remains only one, but as soon as you learn a new and difficult skill, you add a zero to yourself, and your value goes from 1 to 10.
When you improve your communication skills or eloquence, another zero is added, and you become 100. When you make technology and the digital world your tool, you become 1000. The chain does not stop here; your sincere relationships, your reputation, and your financial intelligence are the zeros that change your status from thousands to millions and crores.
In today's era, the poor or unsuccessful person is not the one who does not have money, but the one who does not know the art of adding "zeros" to his name. The person who wakes up in the morning and is doing the same old job, in the same old way that he has been doing for ten years, is actually living as just "one". To become a hero, you have to step out of your comfort zone and find your value addition zeros.
Have you learned a new language? Have you acquired any digital skills? Have you started hanging out with people who are smarter than you? Every such effort adds a new zero to your personality check, which increases your market value many times over.
But there is a very subtle and important point here that ignoring can lead to disaster. All these zeros make a “hero” only when the “one” standing to their left is strong and established in its place. This “one” is your character, your truth, and your humanity. If this “one” falls or moves away, then even if there are millions of zeros behind, their total value is only “zero”.
History is witness that those who only accumulated the zeros of wealth and fame but lost the “one” of character, eventually became a pile of dust. Therefore, increase the zeros of your abilities, but never let the number of your ethics drop, because it is the foundation that gives "meaning" to all those zeros. Don't just remain one on the checkbook of life, but add so many zeros to yourself through the process of learning and moving forward that the world is forced to value, not value, you.
