Mosquito fish afraid of robot fish, problem solved
A group of scientists created a robotic fish. It was not meant for studying the ocean or reefs as you would think besides it's a fish, isn't that the main thing but no. Their aim was not even water. They wanted to literally intimidate the invasive species aka the one insect I hate the most, mosquito, and they wanted to make it stop reproducing.
This already happens today and it proves to be really effective.
The mosquitofish are real fish that eat mosquitoe larvea. So that was the inspiration. There was a problem with mosquitoe fish. Instead of eating the mosquito larvea alone, they'll breed so quickly and beating frog eggs and attacking other native fish. So they were not ideal to solve the mosquito problem.

So the scientists at the University of Western Australia and New York University created a robotic fish mimicking bass, the predator species. Mosquitofish become scared when they see the robotic fish approach.
What happens with that constant fear is they are not free to move around and eat and attack so they lose weight and don't breed effectively. It's a way to solve both problems. They'll still eat mosquitoe larvea to survive but they won't spread quickly because they see what to them are predators, but they're robot fish.
So the good thing is we're not using poisons or nets. There are no chemicals killing any living creature. All they need is just a scaring robot, intimidating the species. The project is based on the concept of fear ecology.
A predator does not need to kill the animal to influence its life and choices. It changes the habits, movement and feeding process of the prey. The scientists knew about this phenomenon and decided to make it practical and we are seeing the results.
The robots affect mosquitofishes since only they know about the danger coming their way. Other species of local fish do not care about the robot at all. That way, they managed to intimidate the needed fish species and left others safe.
That to me is wisdom not just science.
