Artificial Intelligence that searches for Exoplanets.

We do not have the capacity to travel to other stars, not yet, we do not have that capacity, but I am convinced that it will be achieved one day, maybe, within 200 years, maybe, within 20 years, because this technological evolution of inventions does not always go step by step, it is not laying a brick a brick and it is not a path as long as it goes at the same speed, sometimes something is discovered that breaks, opens the doors and a stream of inventions is produced at an incredible speed.

The last great technological revolution that civilization has experienced is due to electricity and was also combined with the combustion engine, that is why we have had such incredible progress in the 20th century, we have gone from the 19th century, the 19th century was also the century of Napoleon, Bonaparte of the Napoleonic wars and of sailing ships and we have moved on to spaceships to travel to the moon.

At any moment perhaps something will be discovered that opens that door, not something suddenly that we can already build a ship that will take us to the stars, but perhaps it will speed up the process and instead of taking centuries it will take us decades to achieve it, but at the moment we still do not know where the key to that door is, but what we do know is how to find those planets and how we now have the technology thanks to James Webb and other large telescopes to be able to analyze the atmospheres of those worlds, also characterize their temperature, their orbital characteristics, size, mass to know, what gravity they may have, their surface, what temperature they may have, what atmospheric composition.

If they can have an atmospheric composition that is compatible with life forms, with which we are actually looking for objectives so that in the future our descendants can travel, or the kids of today, if that door suddenly opens, they can travel to those stars and can visit them and perhaps colonize some exoplanets.

NASA published on January 22 that the ExoMiner artificial intelligence model, developed by NASA scientists, had validated 370 new exoplanets since 2021, using the enormous data bank left by the Kepler mission, which ended in 2018. Now what is news now is that they have released an improved version called ExoMiner++, the point is that this artificial intelligence, this improved version, has been trained with combined data not only of the Kepler mission, but also of the TESS mission, which is still in operation, at least until 2027.

This new version uses deep learning to more efficiently analyze transit signals. In fact, in its first scan with TESS data, Exominer ++ identified approximately 7,000 new exoplanet candidates, which is outrageous because I think we currently have about 6,000 confirmed ones. These candidates need follow-up observations with telescopes to end up being confirmed as real, in fact, until now TESS had or had confirmed almost 700 exoplanets.

This Exominer ++ can process thousands of sectors and it's uh it can be used by it's open to the public it can literally be used by an amateur, it's not easy, but there are video games that are more difficult, I think, but it's not complicated. The thing is that it takes time because analyzing all the TESS data, which are thousands of sectors, millions of stars, can take months applying this Exominer ++ that you have downloaded to your computer, but the strategy would be better to focus on a single sector and thus be able to hunt exoplanets.

But in principle, discovering these planets would be within the reach of an amateur thanks to this program.
