Discover a cosmic “wind” that is destroying entire galaxies

Discover a cosmic “wind” that is destroying entire galaxies, it is the new discovery of the James Web space telescope, to begin with this is happening in a very distant galaxy, I do not even believe that life exists in it, because this galaxy is from the primitive universe and for planets with life to exist, the basic elements of life must first be produced.

Massive stars have to explode and expel to the outside, well, carbon, iron, phosphorus, etc., and then for these materials to concentrate to form planets and then for life to emerge on them, it takes a little time and then logically it also takes a little time for the universe to expand a little and for the brutal explosions and terrifying events that occurred at that initial moment, in those first hundreds of millions of years, to occur a little further away and not be crushing the planets where life can begin to emerge.

Specifically, this research was published on June 10, was led by Rebeca L. Davies and other collaborators and talks about a galaxy in the early universe 100 million years after the Big Bang. It is believed that after 2 billion years the universe began to calm down and have enough materials to form planets, it would be there for 2 billion years. They may lower it in the coming years with new research, lower that figure and make it closer to the Big Bang, but more or less it would be around there, it would be when the first possibilities for planets with life to emerge around 2,000 million years.

But 100 million years ago, when this galaxy existed, things were very difficult for a planet to emerge from a quiet star and have time for life to evolve, only 100 million years had passed since the Big Bang. This galaxy is called CRISTAL-02, it has a nice name, by the way, and using the James Webb telescope and ALMA, the network of radio telescopes in northern Chile, they found that it is in a fusion phase of multiple colliding galaxies.

This galaxy is colliding with others and what this is causing is that gas is being channeled from the center and causing the intense burst of star formation twice as fast as normal galaxies, that seems good in principle, many stars are formed, but in the end what we have in this galaxy is that many of those stars that are forming are massive and explode quickly, the larger a star is, the less time it lives. A supermassive star, much more massive than the sun, can live only a few million years and then explode as a supernova.

And the problem is that with so many supernova explosions a plume of cold gas is being created that extends almost throughout the entire galaxy, because those shock waves from the explosions are expelling the gas, pushing it, creating what they call "wind", it is not air, but there is energy to expel the gas molecules from that galaxy, that in the end all that energy, those shock waves from the supernovae are expelling the gas that was in that galaxy and that would have to be destined to form stars, It is literally drying it out and of course, if in the end it runs out of gas, which they have calculated would happen in about 100 million years, the galaxy would no longer be able to form stars or planets, it would be a dead galaxy.

In fact, right now it would be completely dead, because of course, we were seeing what happened when the universe was only 100 million years old, now it is about 12.7 billion years later, in that galaxy there may be a few red dwarf stars, because those live a long time, they live, they can live quietly for 100,000 million years or more, but there would no longer be any star like the sun, none, they would all have died.

Perhaps there would be a star in Orange Ana, because those also live a long time, they can live for about 20,000 million years and it would be the only hope of finding a planet with life, because red dwarfs, although they have the possibility of having planets and having a habitable zone and being quiet, produce little energy and life forms need a powerful energy source. The sun is a powerful source of energy, an orange dwarf that is a little smaller than the solar type, which is a yellow dwarf, therefore also produces a lot of energy, but a red lullaby is already a little short, but it would be what right now, if we could travel instantly to that galaxy, we would find a galaxy of stars in red lullabies, a galaxy where the light would be practically all reddish and some orange dwarf stars.
