In fact, there are comets that are crazy in terms of organic molecules and this was demonstrated by the famous 3I/Atlas, the interstellar object with cometary activity has been discovered to have organic molecules and 3I/Atlas is at least 7,000 million years old, that is, organic molecules have existed in the universe for a long time, but organic molecules are essential for the existence of living beings. So before “the chicken” arose, there had to be “the egg” of organic molecules and living beings, evidently they produce organic molecules and in large quantities, it is what we know how to do best of all kinds.




In March 2025, a team of scientists reported having identified small amounts of molecules in a rock sample analyzed by the small chemistry laboratory aboard the Robert Curiosity. These organic compounds were the largest organic molecules found on Mars and of course, organic molecules can be formed in nature, yes, but the larger an organic molecule is, the more complicated the conditions have to be for that molecule to form. In fact, living beings manufacture not only organic molecules, but we are specialists in manufacturing gigantic organic molecules.


The point is that the researchers hypothesized that perhaps they could be fragments of fatty acids that had been preserved at the bottom of what had been the ancient lake that existed in Cratter Gale. Here on Earth, fatty acids are produced mainly by life forms, although they can also be generated by geological processes. The scientists could not determine if the molecules were created by living beings, which led to a subsequent study that evaluated non-biological sources, that is, analyzing whether these organic molecules and especially in that quantity could come from natural sources on Mars first and then perhaps they could come from meteorites that have fallen on Mars that contain organic molecules.


They analyzed meteorites that we had here on Earth and they saw that neither, that they did not explain the quantities found of those complex molecules and in such large quantities in proportion to the sample they found, so they published the report on February 4 with their data and the researchers say that since the non-biological sources they considered could not fully explain the abundance of organic compounds, it is reasonable to hypothesize that living beings are the authors of those compounds.




In other words, since natural options, whether those from Mars, geological ones from Mars or meteorites, cannot explain that they were the source of those molecules that they found, it is possible to hypothesize that living beings were the authors of those organic compounds that they found on Mars.


They would need a detailed and in-depth analysis, you know what scientists are like, but it is a very interesting step, because they have analyzed all the non-biological possibilities and have seen that there are no more options.


On Mars we know that there were conditions for life to exist, and for life to arise, on Mars there was liquid water, there were oceans, or at least there was a large ocean in the northern hemisphere of Mars, it is estimated that it had at least the volume of water of the Indian Ocean of the Earth, for the dimensions of Mars it was a large ocean, there were oceans, there were rivers, there were glaciers, there was rain, snow. It was a blue and white planet, fundamentally, because it was also colder, although there would be warm areas near the Equator and also those conditions conducive to life and all the materials for life to arise were present on Mars and at the same time in which life emerged on Earth, and life on Earth emerged quite quickly.
