Scientist creates a mini “universe”.

In an episode of Rick and Morty, the protagonist, the more or less mad scientist, He created a miniature universe with a trick, stealing energy from that universe for the battery of his spaceship, in turn, within that universe, there is another scientist on a planet in that universe who has created another miniature universe and etc., this is how things escalate, I recommend the chapter, it is very interesting.

The point is that the University of Birmingham announced that Professor Giovanni Barontini had created a mini universe not to steal energy from a planet in that mini universe, but also for something quite amazing, to study what it is, how it works and how time is created, the problem of time, time exists as a stage, or as the fabric of space-time, as something that is persistent there, like the stage of a theater, or only appears when the actors begin to act.

Is it something pre-existing in our universe or is it something emergent that arises from the action of the most essential particles? In quantum gravity theories, the universe is described as a static quantum state, with no external time parameter, no external clock marking the passage of time, time must emerge from the internal relationships between the parts of the system. How is this explained? If you look at the sea, the waves of the sea seem to us like waves in the sea, something natural, but if we look at the molecular scale there are a lot of molecules moving in all directions, what happens is that the energy at that moment from the sea, from the wind, causes the water molecules to configure the waves that form the waves of the sea on a large scale.

So, returning to time, there is something external, something consubstantial, something that already exists, a scenario called time that exists regardless of whether there are actors or no actors and vice versa, it could be that there are places in the universe or outside the universe where time does not exist, or in other words, space time is really the universe, because outside of it, if there is no time or space, there will be no universe either, what we understand by universe is the scenario of space time or is it all a product of something secondary that emerges from quantum world.

And also because there is no negative time, that is, being able to travel backwards in time or zero time, places where time does not pass, it remains stagnant, there are a lot of unknowns and problems and paradoxes, and all this is related to the increase in entropy, at least as we know it.

This mini universe that this scientist from the United Kingdom has created. What exactly did he do? The universe consists of 24,000 atoms of rubidium 87, they cooled them to temperatures close to absolute zero, forming a Bose-Einstein Condensate, which is a very peculiar collective quantum state in the 1920s and between these two scientists theorized this state that was later proven to be real, that it worked just as they had theorized, things that occur in this state, because it is not only used for this specific experiment, but for many others, and allows the atoms in that state with that cold to all act in the same way, as a single quantum entity.

And this here is wonderful because it is like seeing the quantum effects that would occur within each atom, but expanded to more than 24,000, it is as if you were in a large room with 24,000 people each talking about a different thing and logically you would not understand anything, but if all 24,000 spoke at the same time about the same thing and at the same pace, you could understand them even from tens or hundreds of meters away, which is why it is interesting to place the atoms in that state, because this way this researcher could see what was happening in the quantum world, but on a larger scale, even 24,000 atoms.

After creating this, the professor created an optical barrier with a laser, he created two sectors, observable above and hidden below, the condensate exploded in a Big bang literally, like the origin of the universe, it expanded as in the infraction and then ended up collapsing in a big crunch, in the end the expansion ended and ended up collapsing those atoms and they were concentrated again in a single point, in this case it would not be a singularity because, after all, they are atoms, there is not enough gravity to create a mini hole black, it would be perfection if a mini black hole could be created and then go from one point to another.

The interesting thing is that this mini universe, although not perfect, did not use the time of the external laboratory nor did it work with its own time, this mini universe was born, evolved, expanded and then contracted and collapsed, but at the rhythm of the time that had emerged within it, from that condensate.

This experiment is a point in favor of those who defend that time is an emergent phenomenon, that is, there is no theater stage called time, time does not exist on its own, but time is the product of actions in the quantum world of particles, it only appears when the actors enter the stage, which would be space, and begin to act.
