The first explorers of other worlds

Before there is a human stepping into a new world, someone needs to set up the construction camp and for the first time that someone may not be human, the EngineAi press has just announced an alliance with the commercial space flight company Interstellar to send a humanoid robot on a suborbital mission in 2028.

The objective is not a show, it is a brutal test of survival, the robot or robots will be launched into space to operate in a microgravity environment where there is no ground, weight, fixed support, or stable references, it will be like a dress rehearsal for a future in which bipedal machines will take on tasks in orbit in space stations and eventually on other worlds.

For years, NASA has been developing the Valkyria humanoid robot designed to act in extreme environments with focus and lunar and Martian missions. In parallel, the agency collaborates with companies such as Eletronic, creator of the Apollo humanoid, accelerating the transition from laboratory space robotics to real applications.

And there is still a name that is impossible to ignore, Elon Musk has already stated several times that he intends to send Optimus robots to Mars aboard the Starship, even before humans, the logic is simple, let the machines prepare, build structures, assemble systems, fix failures, all before the arrival of people.

The commitment to humanoids in space is not about replacing astronauts, it is about protecting them, humanoid robos are ideal to be sent because they use tools made for humans and move in environments designed for human bodies. You don't need to reinvent the entire infrastructure, just change who does the heavy lifting.

Sending a humanoid on a suborbital flight is a small step in distance, but a gigantic step in validation, this means proving that sensors, actuators, batteries, control systems and mechanical structures continue to function when subjected to extreme vibration, violent acceleration and absence of weight.

If successful, a new sector is officially born, robotic work outside of Earth, not just exploration or research, but maintenance, construction and operation, perhaps when the first human being walks through a Mars base he will not find an empty place, perhaps he will find machines waiting and working, for humans on Mars.
