The world's first commercial orbital quantum cloud

The Internet that we use today could have its days numbered, not due to lack of speed, but due to lack of security, with the advance of quantum computing, current cryptography systems, those that protect banks, governments and personal data, could simply stop working and precisely to solve this problem, a company is looking into space.

SEALSQ Corp announced an ambitious project, creating the world's first commercial orbital quantum cloud, a satellite-based infrastructure capable of offering virtually tamper-proof communication. The idea is to build a constellation of 100 satellites by 2033 in collaboration with WISeSat, but it is not just about putting servers in space, we are talking about a new security layer, an internet based on quantum principles, using technologies such as quantum key distribution, quantum random number generation and post-quantum identity systems.

What they are looking for is to create communication systems where any interception attempt would be detected instantly, because in the quantum world observing data already alters the data itself, that is, spying leaves traces and that completely changes the rules of the game. Today data centers consume enormous amounts of energy, including water for cooling, which is why some ideas already suggest taking these structures to space, where they could be powered by the sun and cooled naturally.

SEALSQ Corp is taking this concept further, not only moving data into space, but creating a new global security infrastructure and the goal now is to transform this into a commercial service aimed at banks, governments, defense and large companies, but perhaps most impressive of all is that as we build quantum networks in space and develop technologies capable of protecting entire systems.
