We have a new comet called Panstarrs C/2025 R3

The International Astronomical Union gives names to everything that is in the universe, planets, stars, craters, mountains, volcanoes, moons, asteroids, except comets, all the other names of the cosmos go through the International Astronomical Union, but not comets, if you discover one you can give it your name, normally the name of the discoverer is given, but you can name the name of your girlfriend or boyfriend or a friend or your dog and that is still a right that the discoverer, the rest do not, the rest must go through the filter of the International Astronomical Union and they are very strict.

But we have a new comet, the comet Panstarrs C/2025 R3 that we see in this photo taken by Dan Bartlet on April 7 from June Lake in California, this comet will pass close to the sun on April 19 and will pass about 75 million kilometers from the Earth on April 26, it is already very faintly visible to the naked eye, which is why it is recommended to use binoculars, but it will be visible to the naked eye, it will be a quite spectacular comet. And it is quite small.

It is estimated that it will be at least 400 m in diameter and up to a maximum of 2.4 km. Why such a huge difference? because when we normally see comets, practically all of them, except the eastern giant of 140 km in diameter that is going to approach the orbit of Saturn, but the rest is that we discover them when they are already surrounded by a cloud of gas and dust, so the nucleus cannot be seen. This is what has happened with 3I/Atlas, the core of 3I/Atlas has never been seen directly, all those photos they put with the core that looks like a UFO or whatever or an extraterrestrial ship, are not true, it has always been surrounded by a cloud of gas and dust, another thing is that illustrations have been published, but what they want to pass off as photos of the surface of 3I/Atlas is not true.

At the moment this new comet is a green comet and as you can see it has a magnificent tail, let's hope it survives because recently another comet ended up disintegrating on April 4 because it got too close and it was a Kreutz plane, the Kreutz planes are tens of thousands of fragments, some 4,000 or 5,000 have already been discovered only at this time that we have solar observatories and they can see them up close, they are fragments of a giant comet of 120 km, it is believed that it initially broke up in the time of ancient Greece, about 2,300, 2,400 years ago, then it fragmented into more pieces and now there are tens of thousands of fragments of it that get too close to the sun and many of them end up disintegrating, there are still some large fragments several kilometers in diameter and that when they get close to the sun they cause spectacular flashes.
