Fire fighting robot

Reduce the risk of those who save lives.

Hyundai recently presented a firefighting robot designed to go exactly where humans cannot, the machine was developed in collaboration with Kia, Hyundai Roden and Hyundai Movies and has already been delivered to the National Fire Agency.

This robot is capable of identifying the origin of the fire, assessing the situation and approaching the flames directly to fight them, all of which put a firefighter in danger. The system was built on an originally military platform called HR Sherpa, adapted to operate in extreme environments, withstanding temperatures of up to 800º thanks to a water spray cooling system and a special thermal insulation structure.

It is equipped with cameras with artificial intelligence and advanced thermal sensors, allowing you to see through smoke, identify heat sources and navigate even in practically invisible conditions, it carries a high-pressure hose with photoluminescent elements that glow in the dark, making it easier to identify entry and exit routes in dangerous environments. With six independent wheels, each with its own motor, it can make precise movements, rotate 360º in tight spaces, overcome obstacles and move quickly around the stage.

This robot not only fights flames, it also collects data, analyzes environments and learns with each operation. According to the developers, it represents an important step in the concept of physical AI, that is, artificial intelligence acting directly in the real world in critical situations. The plan is to create fully autonomous systems capable of assessing fires, defining strategies and acting without human intervention. Deep down, this technology raises an important reflection, until recently, machines were used to facilitate tasks, now they are beginning to take risks instead of two humans and perhaps this is one of the clearest paths of technological evolution, not only making life easier, but also making it safer.
