Hi guys, I'm your host as usual, Paakwesi and I'm back again with my classic grafting videos.

Now, we all already know how ancient a practice tree grafting really is and I'm especially interested in that field because of the benefits and the value to the plants.

There are a lot of farmers in my community that love finding new ways to increase the strength of their crops or the quality of the fruits produced by their trees. And for most of them that I observe and even learn a thing or two from, grafting is their go to method.

Bark grafting is one of the ways that increases the success rates if your crops and you can only execute it beautifully if you have patience and a sharp knife.

The first thing to do with grafting is to carefully prune the branch of the plant. I've spoken on every step well enough for you to see the process and do same.

After cutting the side of the branch, you need to make a small pocket with a small incision of the bark. For this step, you need to be skilled. I'm not talking about professional world class but the way you do it is very important. You aim should be to expose the branch without damaging the entire area.

For the next step, you need to cut a small, fresh, green branch with active buds from a separate tree. That's what you're going to insert into the plant you're grafting.

Please always remember that this small branch also needs to be cut to size so that it is slanted at the bottom to be a good fit for the opening on the other tree.

Ar the very core of this technique, it's really just the merging of two tree parts suited to grow as singular one. That's why the careful fit of the small branch to the bark pocket comes in.

You'll also need to do it tightly so that the inner tree fluids of both help the healing process. Never leave it like that, always wrap the graft with plastic tape so that the moisture is contained and also the work you just did will be protected against diseases and insects. In a short time, the trees will grow beautifully as one.
