How to Graft a Guava Tree in under 30 days
It's not been a couple of days since I posted a video because I was actually hooked to the gaming side but anyways we're back to posting some good videos.
Today we are discussing an awesome approach to grafting a guava tree. I've already shared two grafting videos but this is specific to guava. Yes it could be done to some other fruits but to the best of my knowledge it's guava this strategy works well on.
If you're having trouble understanding from the blog side, you can watch the video and I know you'll understand it well.
Grafting is an excellent technique that can be applied in planting trees to help them produce sweet fruits within the shortest time possible and that's exactly why I'll recommend you do it.
First thing's first, you need to identify the healthiest stem of a guava tree from which to graft.
You then clip off the top of the tree and make a neat cut using a knife, cutting right through the middle of the stem. After that, you choose a branch from another guava tree from the type that produces sweet fruits. After you peeled off the leaves, you will trim the base of this stem to form a wedge looking shape.
The next step is the important process of putting the new stem directly in place in the cut of the previous stem. Once the branch has been inserted, wrap the stems firmly together using plastic tape to protect it against air and moisture.
Just for additional safety, you will need to cover the stem with a plastic bag. After waiting for about 17 or 18 days, you remove the bag, you'll see the new green leaves have emerged on the stem. At day 26 or 27, it will have grown enough for you to be able to remove the tape. The two stems come out perfectly joined together.
That's how it's done. Everything takes roughly 1 month or even less.
