Why Organic Maize Farms Do Better in Our Soil

It's an unfortunate mindset I've seen wat too many farmers have. They think that going through the trouble of spending money on chemical fertilizers is the only option they have to get a large maize harvest.

Today I'm not just giving you a video, I'm giving you a different option to think about.

When maize is allowed to grow naturally, they develop a support system under the soil that helps them survive harsh conditions.

Maize already has the natural ability to develop a symbiotic relationship with the fungi that grows in the soil. This fungi in combination with the maize roots, gives other maize plants the ability to share their own resources. It's a survival thing.

If some maize plants have a limited amount of water nutrients, the fungi can even send warnings to the other plants. This also helps with predators.

The thing about chemical fertilizers is that they're dangerous and its because of their toxicity. Not only do they sort of influence the plant to become lazier since it's giving resources the plant has been designed to work its way for, but their roots become more shallow. When the rains do not come at certain points in the dry season, this can become an even bigger problem. With organic methods, the fungi remain in the soil and that helps the maize to stay strong. The maize develops stronger, deeper roots that can find water even during a dry spell.

I'll always recommend that you work with nature than with the lab. You'll be creating a better farming ecosystem.
