And if a robot did not need to have a single fixed body and could choose the best physical form before executing each task, in Shenzhen, China, LimX Dynamics presented the Tron 2, a modular robotics platform with it built in created specifically for advanced research and industrial development.

Unlike traditional heists, Tron 2 is not defined by a single format, it was designed to change configurations depending on the mission, offering laboratories a highly flexible testing environment to explore new forms of locomotion, manipulation and embedded intelligence.

In practice, Tron 2 can operate in three different ways and one of them assumes a bipedal form with two arms focused on manipulation tasks, in another, it changes the feet for wheels on the legs, prioritizing mobility, stability and carrying capacity and when the environment demands it, the bipedal console configuration returns, ideal for stairs and specific terrain.

Each arm of the Tron 2 has 7 degrees of freedom with a spherical wrist that drastically expands dexterity, the work space reaches 70 cm and in the double arm configuration, the robot manages to manipulate up to 10 kg, the response is fast, the teleoperation latency is around 50 milliseconds practically in real time.

In wheeled mode, Tron 2 supports 30 kg of payload, navigates uneven terrain with adaptive control and also has automatic recharging, in bipedal mode it uses vision-based motion planning to autonomously climb stairs.

Safety was also treated as a central element, Tron 2 has active algorithmic limits that prevent self-collisions and hardware damage, in case of power failure, a double redundant power system guarantees that the arms are retracted and a safe position.

In software, the platform follows the concept of vision, language and action, integrating data collection and processing, training and inference in a single environment, the system offers an open SDK compatible with Python, Ross One and Ross 2, in addition to full support for Sims Real, facilitating development in simulators such as Nvidia, ISX SIM, Mojo C and Gazivo. models and algorithms that are already preconfigured, trained with more than 1000 data sets, real with prices starting at 20,000, Tron 2 is not just a robot, it is a traveling laboratory and then when AIs stop having a fixed body, what will be the limit?
