The first drone for immersive flights

Antigravity Tech has just launched the A1, which dispenses with joysticks and allows you to control it only by looking by tilting your body, presented as the first 360º 8K drone, there is everything, at first glance it sounds almost like exaggerated marketing, but the proposal completely changes the logic of recreational and cinematographic flight.

Here the Vision glasses are not an accessory, they are the cockpit, the drone was designed from the beginning for immersive first-person flight with motion control using the grip controller and the so-called free motion mode, instead of levers, the pilot pointing where you want to go with natural hand and head movements.

It works like virtual reality applied to the real world because you can see everything in 360º, without blind spots, if you turn your head, the point of view changes, if you tilt your wrist, the drone responds, it's like swapping a video game controller for the entire body as an interface.

The system transmits a live image in 2K with about 150 milliseconds of latency, perceptible in numbers, but little meaning in practice, and even though it is immersive, it still maintains classic security resources, lower frontal sensors, multiple location system, GPS, Galileo and Bidow and visual alerts when you approach obstacles.

The most impressive thing is that you record everything at the same time, A1 uses two sensors to capture 8K videos at 30 fps and a fully stabilized sphere, no jinbow, no pre-framing, the logic is simple, first you fly, then you frame.

A single take allows you to create pans, tracks, effects or cinematic scenes in post-production without the need to repeat recordings, this changes the relationship between pilot and camera, instead of thinking like a cameraman during the flight, you think like someone exploring the environment.

The act of flying becomes the central experience and the recording happens almost as a consequence and with just 249 grams, the drone falls below the regulatory limit in many countries, offering up to 24 minutes of flight or more with an extended battery.

It is not a drone made for complex technical maneuvers, it is a drone made for sensation, presence and rediscovering common places from a perspective impossible for the human body.
