Technology companies dream of introducing robotics into our homes and that is exactly what Figure AI is focused on doing, they decided to face the most difficult environment of all, the human home, Figure was not designed for clean laboratories or factories, it was created to coexist with people in unpredictable environments, full of objects, children, animals and disorder.


This third generation of the humanoid from the North American company represents a complete reformulation of hardware, software and manufacturing, and the goal is ambitious, to make robots truly versatile, capable of learning directly from people and executing human-like tasks on a global scale.


At the center of this transformation is Helix, Figure's proprietary artificial intelligence. Unlike systems based on fixed routines, Helix combines vision, language and action in real time, allowing for continuous physical reasoning, and to do that, the robot received a redesigned sensory suite with faster cameras, lower latency and a much wider field of view.


The robot not only sees better with these improvements, it understands the environment as it moves, its hands have also radically evolved, because each now has cameras in the palm and its own touch sensors developed in-house after Figure concluded that existing solutions did not stand up to real use.




The sensitivity is so high that the robot can detect forces equivalent to a few grams, anticipating slipping before it occurs. This allows it to manipulate fragile, deformable or irregular objects with a level of control that until recently seemed like science fiction, but perhaps the most revealing aspect of the Figure 03 is the focus on home use.


It is lighter, smaller, coated, with soft fabrics and multi-density foams to reduce impact risks, the fabrics are washable, replaceable and even customizable, the robot was designed to live with people, not just operate around them.


The included battery redefines safety standards with multiple layers of protection and international certification, with charging being completely wireless, the Figure 03 robot simply walks to the base, positions itself and recharges itself throughout the day, meanwhile, downloading terabytes of data via mmwave for continuous learning in the cloud and all this is already born ready for mass production.


Unlike previous generations, Figure 03 was designed from the beginning to be manufactured on a large scale, the company created a supply chain from scratch and inaugurated BoutiQue, its own industrial unit with initial capacity for 12,000 robots per year and the clear goal of reaching hundreds of thousands. The impact of this company goes far beyond homes, because by solving the challenges of the domestic environment, the most chaotic of all, Figure ended up creating an ideal robo for factories, centers, logistics, services and commercial operations.


With faster actuators, higher torque density, precise manipulation and almost continuous operation, they make the Figure o3 a platform designed for the world of scuba diving, but despite all this technology, something is missing in the Figure 03 and that is that it cannot work in the rain, at least for now, because the technology to resist water already exists and can be seen being used in China.
