The NASA Artemis II mission was the first time humans have been beyond the Moon since 1972. It was a trial run for new developments in space travel and was breathtaking to watch. I am proud as an American and believe this will help humans around the globe experience more that the cosmos has to offer.

This mission was a success, and the technical and engineering mastery of NASA was on full display. Sometimes humanity does something amazing and breathtaking, and this is one such occasion. Four astronauts piloted the spacecraft around the Moon and tested shielding and processes that made for a successful mission. In total, the four-astronaut crew spent 10 days in space and traveled over 250,000 miles from Earth. This was the furthest man has been from the planet.

I am excited to see more manned missions in the near future, and fully expect to see astronauts heading to Mars by 2035. This is an ambitious timeline, but with so many commercial and government contributions to the aerospace field, it can be accomplished. This mission helped test technologies that will be used to send humans further from Earth than ever in the future and sets the tone for future space voyages. It was amazing to see, and the 20-minute video from CNN helps summarize the mission.
