NASA to Partner with Companies to Establish a lunar Bases and Popular Stem Content Contest Announcement

The video linked above is an awesome explanation of NASA's plan to progressively build three lunar bases over the next 5-years. As a fan of commercial and government partnerships for space technology this is awesome to hear. When companies innovate and governments provide resources, new innovations arise for all of us. The space race famously created semiconductor and laser technologies that have given rise to many commercial innovations.

NASA is partnering with private companies including Blue Origin, SpaceX and Intuitive Machines to create lunar bases. The companies are lending their expertise in propulsion, payload technology and lander technology to NASA and are making strides towards permanent bases. The goal is progressive innovation in oroject delivery through three lunar bases.

The Artemis missions and Moon Base projects are awesome to learn about. We are finally making headway on payload delivery and base construction, and will hopefully establish meaningful based on the Moon in the next decade. Moonbases 1-3 should be established by 2029 after 25 launches. This challenge should drive innovation and create new technologies to be used for consumers as previous space programs have.
