Gratitude Sunday-The Positivity Challenge-Sobriety, Self-love, love and family🙏
I stumbled across the positivity challenge and absolutely love this idea, today is gratitude Sunday. Thanks for the challenge @positivesteem
About two and a half years ago, I was spiritually bankrupt. I was ungrateful, I self loathed, I had major depression and I suffered from active addiction. I was always in one trouble or another, in and out of a toxic relationship and I was even questioning my very existence.
On the 3rd of June 2016, I said no more to everything what didnt serve me well.. I said goodbye to the toxic relationship, I put myself into a treatment centre and decided to give sobriety and clean living my all. And I did just that.
I put my faith in my higher power, NA, AA, my mentor and I became honest about everything. No more lying. Since then my life has changed and I am truly grateful for my new found freedom and genuine happiness.
Today I am grateful for my higher power and my sobriety. To be present is so rewarding.. I look after myself now, I address my emotions the good and the bad and I sit with my feelings. I know I never have to numb them again and that feelings are just feelings, they pass.
I am grateful for my beautiful family and friends that have supported me on this rollercoaster journey. They have all shown me the meaning of unconditional love.
I am grateful for my boyfriend, I am in a healthy, loving relationship.. for the first time ever!
I am grateful for the roof over my head and that I wake up next to the ocean everyday.
I am grateful for my health, health is something you can not buy, I choose to look after myself and my body.
I am grateful for my beautiful puppy, Maggie who brings me so much joy and teaches me a lot about patience and tolerance.
Life is worth living, I look forward to what the future holds!
Thanks for reading,
Love, P
