@livinglifefreey I live in south Texas and prickly pear cactus is everywhere. The pear apples are beautiful and red right now. I want to harvest them, but have no recipes on using them. You have encouraged me with this post. Thank you.
Glad to help. When I havest them I use a pair of tungs and put them in a plastic 5gal bucket. I burn the prickers with a plumber torch so I do not get pock by them. I will get Cindy to send you some recipes they should be getting close to harvesting. Enjoy Ralph and Cindy
