Unfortunately schools these days teach theories, thats why many companies nowadays verify developing skills from coding sites, and they don't care what degree candidates hold. I remember Tim Cook once was asked why not hiring Americans, he basically blamed Universities for not training and teaching professional knowledge to their students.
