Control Your Emotions
Introduction
Emotions is natural part of human life and play a vital rule in shapping our behavior thougts and decisions. every day we experieince happiiness anger fear sadnness and many other emotiions. being emotional is not a weaknes however losing controoll over emotions can lead to por decisionns regret and mental striss. Therefore learning to unnderstand and control emotionns is essintial for psychological balance and emotional maturity. In this poste I will share my understanding and experinces according to the four tasks of this psychology journey.
Task 01:
Journaling – Writing Emotions and Negative Thoughts
Title:
Regret Fear and Emotional Understanding
Story:
one day i was placed in a sittuation where i have to make quick decision between help someone and protacting myself. at that moment fear and confusion Dominated my mind. i chose personal safety but later that decision disturbed me emotionally. Juilt regret and self-blame surrunded my thouhts. i kept questioning my morality and wundered whether i had done the right thing.
Thoughts:
After some time i reflected calllmly the situation. i realized that emotiions often become intense imediately after an event but with time reassioning becomes clarer. fear is a natural emotional response and choosing self-protection does not always meaan being selfish.
Lesson:
Emotions could be understood not gudged harshlly. writing emotions helps in seperating guilt from reality and prommotes emotioonal healing.
Task 02:
Mind Setup – Book Reading and Psychological Explanation
Book Name:
A collection of psychological thoughts
Topic Read:
Emotion
Psychological Basis of Emotion
The psychological bacis of emotion explain how emutions arise from mentaal and cognitaive processes such as thinking perception larning motevation and past expiriences. Emotions are not produced only by bodily chanjes; rather they depend strongly on how an inddividual intarprets a situation.
Meaning of Psychological Basis
The psychological basis of emotion refers to mental processes that:
Create emotional experiences
Give meaning to situations
Influence emotional reactions
Different people react emotionally in different ways because they interpret situations differently.
Components of Psychological Basis of Emotion
Cognitive (Perceptual) Aspect
emotions depind on how a person perseives the situatiion.
Example:
One student sees an exam as a challenge and feels confident while Another ses it as threait and feels anxity.
This shows that interpritation not the situation itself creats emotion.
Subjective Feeling
This refers to the inner personal experience of emotion. Only the individual truly understands their emotional state such as happiness fear anger or sadness.
Learning and Past Experience
Past experiences shape emotional responses. A negativ experince can be cause fear and anxiety to simillar futotre situatione
Motivattion and Goales
emotions are closellly related to personal goaols. success leads to joy while failure results in frustration or sadnes.
Individual Differences
Emotional reactions vary due to personality intelligence emotional maturity and cultural background.
Expression and Awareness
being awere of emotions helps the regulating them. emotional awareneess prevents impalsive reactionns.
Supporting Psycological Theories
Cognitive Appraisal Theory:
emmotions result from how ve evaluete a situaation.
Schachter–Singer Two Factor Theory:
emotion is the combinaation of physical arouusal and cogneitive interpritation.
Task 03:
Story Analysis – Personal Opinion
In the given story the major mistake was made by Harun Chowdhury. His uncontrolled greed and lack of empathy caused severe suffering during famine. Instead of helping society he exploited people emotionally and economically. his emotional imbalaance ewentually isolated him from humanitty and society refosed to help him when he needid it most.
The storie teaches that emotions like the greed and pride when unconntrolled destroy moraal values and socieal trust. Emotional intelligence and compassion are essential especially during crises.
Task 04:
Six Steps to Controol emotions
Here is the six steps I follow to coontrol my emotiions:
Awareness
I first recognize what i am feeling anger sadness fear or excitement. naming the emotion gives me controol over it.
Pause
Before reacting I stop and take 3–5 deep breaths. This calms my nervous system and prevents impulsive actions.
Identify the Cause
I ask myself:
Why am I feelling this way?
What trieggered this emotion?
Challenge Your Thoughts
Not every thought is true. I replace negative assumptions with balanced and realistic thinking.
Choose a Response
instead of reacting emotionaly i Respond wisely by speaking calllmly walking away or staying silennt when neceessary.
Practice Regularly
emotional control improvs with practice. i use journiling prayer reflection and self-discipline daily.
Remember:
We may not control emotions instantly but we always control our actions.
Conclusion
Emotional control is a psychological skill that devolops through awareness reflection and learning. by understending the psychological basis of emotions and applying prectical steps we can manage emotiuns effectively. emotional control leads to better decissions stronger relationshipps and mental pece.

I really enjoyed your Task 02 review. The book is genuinely interesting, and the lessons are phenomenal! One thing I know is that we can't control what people say or how they treat us, but one thing is in our hands our response. We can choose how to react to a situation, and being emotionally intelligent can be very helpful in this regard. Success!
