Quote of the day 4
The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.
From The Fellowship of the Ring, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien
This quote belongs to my favorite book written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The first book of the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", in my opinion, is a praise to friendship. It's fresh, heartfelt and profound. It goes from the Hobbits' joyful naivety to the timeless presence of Tom Bombadil and Goldenberry.
With this quote we are at Lothlorien and Haldir is speaking to Merry after binding the eyes of the travelers with cloths. The world is getting darker and darker but still, there are some sacred places, inside and outside, which is worth defending.

- The Tolkien Ensemble has set to music some of the poems you find in the Lord of the Rings; listening to the songs while reading the corresponding part of the book is priceless.
