Thanks to Allah Who made fasting an obligatory and meritorious act in the month of Ramadan.

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RadiyaLlahu ‘Anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (SallaLlahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

“He who observes the fast of the month of Ramadan out of sincerity and hope for the reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven.”

[Sahih Bukhari wa Muslim]

Note, the sins to be forgiven as mentioned in this Hadith are the minor one.

O Muslims! Let’s fast with belief and truthfully pursue Allah’s Reward, so that He will forgive us of our past minor sins.

More so, from what decreases one’s reward (of fasting) and prevents one from obtaining excellence this period is engaging in Laghw (vain talks) like lying, cursing, gossiping, backbiting, slandering, and singing (music).

Abu Hurayrah (RadiyaLlahu ‘Anhu) also reported that the Messenger of Allah (SallaLlahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

“Whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need of his giving up his food and drink.”

[Sahih Bukhari]

Dear Brethren! Please, let’s not squander our rewards of fasting. Those vain talks don’t worth it.

I beseech Allah to keep our feet firm on the part of obeying Him. (Aameen)
