SLC32-W1 || Real Life Problem Solving Challenge: Save Electricity At Home
Saving electricity is one of the ways to help save money, save the planet and save energy. The level of electricity consumption on daily basis continues to increase as people use different appliances at homes.
Many people waste electricity without realizing it by leaving appliances plugged in, ironing clothes carelessly or using devices inefficiently. By practicing simple energy-saving habit, we can lower the electricity bills and help protect the environment for our future generation.
What are two electrical appliances in your home that use a lot of electricity? Explain with original pictures.
No:1
This is the first electrical appliance (hot plate) that uses a lot of power. I use this appliance to cook whenever there is electricity in my apartment. It's very easy and fast to use, which is why I often depend on it for cooking.
However, because it consumes a high amount of electricity, I try to manage how often and how long I use it. So to save electricity, I make sure to cook multiple food at once instead of using it through out the day. This helps save money, reduce power consumption and avoid unnecessary waste of energy.
No 2
The second on my list is the electric iron, which we all know is used for ironing clothes. Ironing clothes is something I do only once in a long while because I prefer to iron all my clothes at once and arrange them on hangers to avoid repeated ironing throughout the week.
Although this appliance does not consume as much electricity as the cooker, I still try to reduce power consumption so that when my monthly electricity bill comes, it will not be too high.
What two methods do you use to reduce electricity consumption? Show at least one practical method with a selfie.
There are so many method to reduce electricity consumption;

First, electricity can be reduced by unplugging appliances and switching off the socket when they are not in use. Many people leave their appliances plugged in even when they are not in use, which still leads to unnecessary power consumption. By developing the habit of turning off the socket and unplugging electrical appliances after use, I save energy, reduce electricity bills, and help prevent electricity waste at home.
The second method is switching off my control switch. There is usually a central control unit that regulates all the switches and sockets in the house, and I often turn it off as the best option for me. This is especially useful whenever I am not at home. Each time I am going out, I choose this method because it gives me peace of mind knowing that all appliances are disconnected and no electricity is being wasted.
Have the two methods you use to reduce electricity consumption resulted in a reduction in your electricity bill or not? Explain
(My practical method video)
Yes, these methods have been very wonderful and helpful. I noticed that when I decide to cook all my meals at once in a day instead of repeatedly using the cooker, it helps me save electricity because I use a post-paid meter. Also, each time I go out and turn off the control unit from its main switch, I feel safe knowing that all appliances are disconnected.
Turning off sockets is also useful, although it may not completely stop electricity consumption in some appliances, it still helps to reduce unnecessary power usage and lower my monthly electricity bill. Small habits like these can make a big difference in saving energy at home.
What is the easiest habit for you to save electricity?
My easiest habit to save electricity is using my second method which is turning off the control unit. I find this habit very convenient because it disconnects all appliances at once without leaving any active and helps prevent unnecessary power consumption.
It also gives me peace of the mind whenever I'm going out, knowing that no electricity is wasted while I am away. I learnt this habit from a sister who I lived with and it's working for me even today.
What advice would you give to others to save electricity so that they can reduce their electricity bill and save money?
I would advise others to cultivate simple habits that help reduce unnecessary electricity consumption at home;
• Always switch off sockets and unplug appliances when they are not in use because many devices still consume power in their idle state.
• It's best to cook meals at once instead of repeatedly using electrical appliances throughout the day.
• Avoid leaving lights, fan, or television when nobody is using them.
• Turning off the control unit whenever leaving the house can help save electricity.
It is important to note that all these daily actions can reduce electricity bills, save money, and help conserve energy.

Que bueno que tome conciencia sobre el uso de los electrodomésticos por qué como dice le ayuda mucho ahorrar y también no desperdicia electricidad, otra cosa que favorece es que evita accidente al momento que no esté en casa.
Éxito en el desafío.
Muchas Bendiciones.. 🙏🏻
