My Diary Game: A Rainy Day Indoors - 9th July 2026

Welcome to my diary for today. Today was one of those quiet days that life gives us sometimes. From morning till around 4:30pm, the rain was falling heavily without any sign of stopping. After 4:30pm the rain finally stopped, but the weather remained cloudy, cold and calm. Because of the weather, I spent most of the day indoors with just me, my thoughts, and the sound of rain on the roof.

The day started early with my usual morning prayers. I thank God for life and for another new day. After praying, the first thing I did was to check on my grasscutters. Rain or shine, they still need care. I cleaned their cage properly to make sure it wasn’t too wet, then I fed them. I gave them fresh grass, some leaves, and food scraps. Watching them eat peacefully even with the cold weather made me smile. I’m really grateful I have them to take care of. They keep me busy and they remind me that responsibility doesn’t take a break.

After taking care of them, I came back inside because the rain was getting heavier. The whole compound was quiet and the weather was so cold. Later in the afternoon, I checked my kitchen and realized I didn’t have enough foodstuff. I wanted to cook rice and stew, but I needed fresh fish, tomatoes and pepper.
Thank God there’s a store close to my house, so I didn’t have to go far in the rain. I wore my slippers, grabbed my umbrella, and ran to the store.

The store was a bit quiet because of the rain. Not many people were outside. But I was able to buy fresh fish, ripe tomatoes, and pepper. On my way back home, I was holding the nylon in one hand and my umbrella in the other while water was dropping from it. It felt like one of those movie scenes 😂 I was just laughing to myself.

When I got home, I dropped everything and rested for a while. The rain was still falling non-stop. The weather was so cold and peaceful. I used that time to relax on my bed, scroll through my phone, and enjoy the sound of the rain. There’s something about rainy days that makes you slow down and reflect. Even when you’re alone, it feels peaceful.

In the afternoon, I went to the kitchen to cook. I washed the rice and set it on fire. Then I cut the tomatoes and pepper, blended them, and fried them to make stew. I added the fish and some spices. The smell of the stew filled the whole house and it felt so comforting with the cold weather outside. After cooking, I served myself hot rice and stew for lunch. The food was really tasty and it warmed my body. Eating hot food on a rainy day is one of the best feelings.

Later in the evening around 4:30pm, I noticed that the rain had finally stopped. But the sky was still cloudy and the air was cold. I looked at the remaining rice and stew and I didn’t feel like eating it again. I was craving something different. So I decided to treat myself. I went out to get shawarma for dinner 😋
The weather was still cold, but the shawarma was hot, fresh and delicious.

After dinner, i changed into something comfortable, and just relaxed. I watched a few videos on TikTok and YouTube, then I sat by the window for a while and watched the clouds. The evening was calm and quiet. There were no visitors, just me at home. Even though it was a bit lonely, it was also peaceful and refreshing.

Today reminded me to appreciate little things in life - taking care of my grasscutters, cooking my own food, listening to the rain, and treating myself to something nice. Not every day has to be loud and busy. Some days are just meant for rest and gratitude.
