The Diary game: My Sunday activities (01/02/2026)

in RECREATIVE STEEM8 days ago (edited)

Hello everyone, happy Sunday to you all! I’m excited to share how my day went and the little moments that made it special.
Truly it was a peaceful day, and I’m glad to share my Sunday experience with you.
Let's dive in

The day started with the usual morning "gym"fetching water. You know how it is, if you don’t fill those containers early, the day hasn't started. After sweating a bit with the buckets and the hose, I had to attend to my new "tenant." I bought a new fowl, but this one? It looks like it has a PhD in escaping! Since it’s new and doesn’t know the house rules yet, I had to tie its leg to a heavy stick. I don’t have energy to be chasing chicken all over the neighborhood today, abeg. Stay one place and behave yourself!

Once the chicken was "arrested," hunger started wireing me. I didn't waste time, I just made a heavy bowl of Garri and ede soup. That's garri with ede Nothing like a solid breakfast to give you the energy to face a Sunday. Because I already know the kind stress am going to face with the children at church.

Preparation and the "Road to Glory"

After eating, I entered the bathroom and washed all the stress of the morning away. I came out, picked my favorite strawberry-patterned shirt, threw on my pink towel (fashion icon things!), and I was ready to go. On my way out, the "slay" spirit caught me, so I had to stop on the road and take some fine pictures. You know the street is my runway!

Church Vibes: Singing and Teaching

When I reached church, the atmosphere was already bubbly. I joined the children’s department—the energy those kids have is something else! We sang praises until my voice almost cracked, but it was so sweet. After the singing session, it was time for the "serious" work. I stood behind the pulpit to teach them. Teaching children is fun but you have to be patient enough because their questions can leave you scratching your head!

The Great Visitation

Going for the visitation with the children

After we dismissed, we didn't just go home. As teachers, we decided to go for a visitation. One of our Sunday School kids has been sick for about two weeks now, so we had to go and check on her. We reached her house and prayed for her recovery. It was a really touching moment.

Sharing the biscuits to the children

The Reward: Her parents were so kind! They gave us packs of biscuits to appreciate our coming.

The Distribution: As a "correct" teacher, I took the lead and shared the biscuits among all the children that came with us. See them struggling for biscuits like it was gold! It was so funny to watch.

Before leaving the church premises finally, I had to snap enough pictures with different posing styles "evidence" pictures in front of the church building. My outfit was too sharp to let it go like that 🤣🤣.

The Final Feast

By the time I got back home, my stomach was already doing a protest march. I didn't even argue; I just served myself a big plate of white rice and stew, the stew is called ofe akwu in my dialect, but the English name is palm canal stew. Omo, that rice hit the right spot!

Right now, I’m just lying down, resting my legs and organizing this post for you guys to read. Sunday was long, tiring, but honestly, it was filled with so much joy. Helping those kids and seeing them smile made everything worth it.

Thank you so much for reading and visiting my blog, I really appreciate ❤️ ❤️
