Hello My Steemain Friends, I hope you all are good and enjoying your life. Well I am well. May God bless you all, so guys I want to share how my day (21/09//2026) went, I hope you people vote, like and enjoy my post Today I decided to reward myself. Egusi soup and semo. After long week of hustle, my body deserves soft food.

In the morning I went to market here in The Ekpoma. I bought everything.

What I bought: Egusi 2 cups, semo 1 pack, ugwu leaf small bunch, bitter leaf small, palm oil small, 1 big Titus fish, 2 sachets Maggi, onions, pepper, salt, crayfish small.(10, 000) well managed as a Nigeria Student.

I came back home, entered kitchen. First I soaked my egusi inside small bowl with water and kept it. Some people like the molding method but I like the frying method.

I put my pot on gas, poured small palm oil, not too much. I sliced my onions inside, added my pepper, added my Titus fish and allowed it to steam small with small salt and Maggi. The smell alone was making me hungry.

I added my Egusi I have mixed down with water , I frayed it properly . I covered the pot and left it to boil for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, I opened it. My egusi lumps don set! I added my crayfish, added small water, tasted the salt, added my washed bitter leaf and ugwu leaf. I stirred gently this time. I covered it again for 5 minutes on low heat so the leaves will enter the soup.

The soup was thick, yellow, with fish and green leaves on top. Omo, it was looking like restaurant soup.

Now to semo. I boiled water well well inside another pot. When it boiled, I reduced the heat, poured my semo small small and started turning with my wooden spoon. You need strength for this part o! I turned and turned until it was smooth, no lumps. I added small hot water, covered it to steam for 3 minutes, then turned again. It became soft and stretchy.

I dished my semo, I dished my egusi soup beside it.

I washed my hands, sat down, cut small semo, dipped inside egusi soup and ate. The taste! The fish, the egusi lumps, the ugwu leaf - everything entered. I ate small portion because I'm managing my weight, but I enjoyed it well well.

After eating, I drank water, washed my plates and rested. Belle full, heart happy.

If you have not cooked egusi and semo before, try it this weekend. You will not regret it.
