Hello my people It’s been a while who missed me? 😊
Smiles. let’s get straight into today’s episode of
A Day in the Life of a Pretty Tailor.
Today started off well, high hopes, friendly weather, and enough food for the day 😂
As usual, I got up in the morning, said my prayers, and got into my house chores. For those who don’t know, I sweep and mop the house every morning after I wake up that’s my share of the house chores.
By 9 AM I was ready to get my day started. I prayed it wouldn’t get too hectic and that I wouldn’t have a bad day.
Oops, I forgot to tell y’all I run a small poultry farm where I take care of broilers for consumption and for sale.
It’s not easy being a farmer and a fashion designer, but I’m trying my best to balance both.

For breakfast today, I had fried eggs and tea. How do y’all manage on such small portions and stay okay for hours? I tried just tea and egg for breakfast, and within an hour I was hungry again like I hadn’t eaten anything. Ahh, I can’t cope eating that little like some of y’all.

After breakfast, I went straight to work. I started pattern drafting for a beautiful corset dress for my client. It came out exactly how I wanted, and I was happy I nailed the pattern easily. I moved straight into cutting the fabric, and within a few hours I was joining the pieces together to create a masterpiece. Here’s a picture of my client’s beautiful Ankara fabric it’s a mix of warm colors purple, blue, black, and white.

Once the dress was done, I was hungry as usual. I decided to have something light for lunch, so I went to a popular yoghurt store in Nigeria Habib Yoghurt. I got a bowl of fresh yoghurt with coconut, plus a meat pie. I went back to the shop but couldn’t do much after, so I decided to head home and make dinner. Tonight’s dinner is Nigerian catfish stew, and I needed to get a few ingredients, including the fish, from the market.

I started cooking a bit late but got all the important steps done. If you want the recipe, let me know and I’ll make a separate post for it. I started at 4 PM and finished at exactly 6:15 PM. I was exhausted, but trust me, the result was worth it and the taste? 10 out of 10. Here’s what my catfish stew looked like when I was done.

After my evening bath, it was time to rest. I scrolled through social media and watched an interesting series, The Cleaning Lady. It’s a must-watch. There was a part where the character Armando died, and I just found out the actor passed away in real life. I couldn’t hold back my tears I loved him and his role. He was one of my favorites. I couldn’t continue the show because I got too emotional, so I switched to One Piece and watched until I got tired. By 7 PM it was dinner time. I paired my catfish stew with rice and a chilled Maltina drink. It was delicious, and I’d love to teach y’all how I made it if you’re interested. My brothers gave me good reviews and asked me to make it again soon.

After dinner, I helped my brother mark some test scripts. He’s a teacher, and he was too tired, so I stepped in.
When I was done, I had a 40-minute phone call with an old friend. We talked about our childhood and joked about how we wish we hadn’t grown up so fast.
