Visit to Bundu Khan Sweet & Bake Lahore

Today was one of those days when my mind was tired for no big reason. Sometimes whole day pass but heart still feel empty. So in evening I thought I should go out for a little walk.

So I went for walk and just to change mood. I do not know why but suddenly the name Bundu Khan Sweet & Bake came in my mind. I was missing that sweet smell they have inside. I changed my plan and go there. When I entered this shop, first thing I felt peace. That place was very clean, shiny floors, soft warm lights. Everything was looking fresh. I stood near the counter for few seconds just to take that feeling in. Good places sometime touch your heart.

Then my eyes went straight to the sweet trays. And friends honestly, it was like a full festival of colours in front of me. Red sweets, white sweets, brown gulab jamun, yellow barfi all arranged so perfectly. The first tray I saw was same like in the picture I took. On left side those crunchy walnut pieces, then red halwa squares with almonds, then soft white cham chams, then brown gulab jamuns and on the right that yellow barfi with little red cherry on top. It looked too perfect, like someone painted it carefully.

I do not know why but seeing sweets always bring back my childhood. I remember going with my father on Eid special day. Today standing there, I felt same small happiness again. I started choosing sweets slowly. I wanted little from everything. One walnut piece, one red halwa piece, one cham cham, one gulab jamun, one barfi, I was not in hurry. I just wanted to enjoy that moment because life run too fast normally.

After picking from that tray, I walked to the middle table and said for packing my sweet. I saw there beautiful boxes. Ribbons, pearls, soft cream colour, wooden frame around it. It looked like someone put effort and love into packing sweets. For a second I wanted to buy one gift box too but then I thought today sweetness is for myself only. I needed it.

Then I moved to the big sweet counter in the fridge. So many varieties were there. Coconut balls, angori, cham cham pink, pineapple halwa, patisa, milk barfi, jalebi, pan pera. It felt like every corner had a new surprise. The pink cham cham was shining honestly. The white ones were looking soft like cotton. I stood there for some time just watching everything. These moments, when I do nothing but feel the place is rare.

I completed my box and the salesperson packed it nicely. When he gave it to me, the box felt little heavy in my hands. But that heaviness felt sweet like I was carrying some happiness home. While walking back, the road felt calm. Sometimes even a simple visit to a sweet shop can fix my whole mood. I kept thinking about this. We all wait for big happiness but sometimes small ones are more powerful.

When I reached home, I opened the box. The smell came out like fresh warmth. I picked the red halwa piece first. It was soft and warm in taste, almonds crunchy like perfect balance. Then I tried the cham cham. Bro it was so soft, it almost melted before I even chewed it. Fresh and moist, exactly how good cham cham should be.

When I sat there eating, something emotional hit me. Because life is not really easy. We all carrying our own small battles, our tiredness and our worries. But a moment of simple sweetness can make heart relax for a while. It remind me that happiness does not always come from big things. Sometimes from a small box of sweets too. Today’s visit was not just buying sweets. It felt like a small break from everything. A moment when I slowed down, breathed and felt something warm in my heart again. I really needed this. A clean place, A soft light, A sweet smell, A box full of colours and a quiet time with myself.
