How to start redesigning a small bedroom with no design experience?
I’m staring at my tiny bedroom like it personally wronged me. I’ve never redesigned anything in my life unless you count rearranging my laundry piles. I want it to feel cozy and not like a storage closet with a bed shoved in it, but I have no clue where to start. Pinterest makes me feel like everyone else was born knowing this stuff. How do you even begin without messing everything up or wasting money? I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction before I give up and just buy another random lamp I don’t need.
Start simple: declutter first, then pick one clear vibe (cozy, minimal, warm, etc.) and stick to a small color palette of 2–3 colors. Rearrange what you already have before buying anything — layout makes a bigger difference than décor. Then add just one or two intentional upgrades (like better lighting or new bedding) instead of random impulse buys.
Been there—scrolling through Pinterest like it's a foreign language. What helped me a ton was using AI Interior Design apps where you snap a pic of your room and it spits out a bunch of realistic design options in seconds. No guesswork, no panic-buying lamps that don't match. It gave me actual visuals to work with instead of just vibes. Super helpful if you’re starting totally from scratch like I was.
