I am happy to join this contest and share my own thoughts about becoming a Steem curator.
I have been on Steemit for some time, and during this period I have spent a lot of time reading posts, commenting, joining activities, and also trying to improve my own account. Because of this, I have started to understand that curation is not just about giving an upvote. There is more to it.
Sometimes you can enter a community and see a post with many comments and votes. But when you check well, you may also find another good post from someone who is not getting much attention. That is one of the reasons I feel a curator needs to search properly.

From what I have seen on Steemit, I think reputation is one of the first things to look at.
A person who wants to become a curator should have a good reputation and a good history on the platform, so the reputation am talking about is not just a number only, but beyond that. If someone has been active and has been doing things the right way, it becomes easier for other people to trust that person.
Another thing is being active.
For example, if someone wants to curate but hardly reads posts or visits communities, how will the person discover good content? A curator needs to know what people are posting.
Time is also important. Sometimes I start reading one post and before I know it, I have already spent several minutes because the post is long or needs proper attention. So I don't think curation is something a person should do in a hurry.
The person should also know how to check posts properly. If there is a question about a source, plagiarism, or something else, the curator should take time to check before making a decision.
And lastly, I think fairness is very important. For example, if my friend makes a good post, that does not mean I should support it only because we are friends. The same should apply to people I don't know.

I believe the first thing is to search for good content.
One thing I have noticed on Steemit is that good posts are not always the posts that are getting the most attention. You can enter a community and find someone who has written a very good post but has only a few votes.
That person may have spent hours writing it.
So, if I become a curator, I would not just look at trending posts and stop there. I would also visit different communities and look at posts from different users.
A curator should also read before voting.
For example, if I see a title that looks interesting, I should not vote immediately. I need to open the post, read it, and understand what the person is saying. Sometimes a beautiful title can lead to a post that does not contain much, while another simple title may lead to a very good post.
I also think a curator needs to be careful when checking people's work.
If I see something that looks similar to another post, I should not quickly accuse the person. I should check properly first. The same thing applies when there is a question about AI. We should be careful because making the wrong decision can affect someone's work.
Comments are also useful. A curator can leave a simple comment when there is something worth saying. Sometimes a small suggestion
can help another writer improve their next post.
¿Cuánto tiempo crees que un usuario debe aprender el trabajo de un curador?
In my opinion, about 2 to 4 weeks can be a good period for someone to learn the basic work of curation.
I say this because there are things you may not understand just by reading the rules.
For example, you may understand how to check a post, but when you start seeing different types of posts, you may discover that some situations are not as simple as they looked.
During those weeks, the person can learn the curation rules, practise checking posts, understand the tools used by the team, and learn how to record the work properly.
But even after learning for one month, I believe there will still be more things to learn. Steemit keeps changing, and experience also teaches you.
¿Qué aspiras ganar siendo nombrado como miembro de un equipo de curación? ¿Reputación o recompensa?
For me, it is not only about rewards.
Of course, rewards are good. Nobody will say no to a reward. But if I get the opportunity to become a curator, I would also see it as a way of giving something back to Steemit.
I have received support from people on this platform before, and I know how it feels when someone notices your work.
Sometimes you spend time writing a post and you are not even sure if people will see it. Then someone comes, reads it, comments, and supports it. That can encourage you to keep going.
So, if I can do the same thing for another Steemian through curation, I will be happy.
The reputation that comes with the work is also good, but for me, trust is very important.

Personally, I would not ignore a good post just because the person is not in a particular club.
For example, imagine I come across a post that someone has spent a lot of time working on. The person explained the topic clearly, used their own pictures or ideas, and the post is useful. If the only reason to ignore it is because the person is not in a club, I would find that difficult.
At the same time, I understand that there are curation rules and requirements to follow. I would still follow the official guidelines given to curators.
But I believe the actual work of the author should also be looked at.
¿Crees que en la unión está la fuerza sin importar del país que sea? ¿O crees tener problemas trabajar en equipo con usuarios de otros países?
Yes, I believe people from different countries can work together.
Steemit has already shown me that people don't have to come from the same place to communicate or work together.
For example, you can make a post in Nigeria and someone from another country can read it and leave a comment. You may never have met that person before, but you can still interact normally.
So, if I am selected to work with people from other countries, I will have no problem with that.
There may be differences in time zones, culture, or the way we understand some things, but communication can help us work together.
And most especially this one that I noticed about language when someone use a different language to write post with my Google translator I can translate it to also know what exactly the person mean.
I also think working with people from different places can help us learn new things.
Being a curator is not just about having a voting account or giving votes to people.
For me, it means being ready to read, search, learn, and make fair decisions.
If I get the opportunity to serve as a curator, I will try my best to do the work properly. I will also continue learning from other curators because nobody knows everything.
