Remembrance Sunday// The Beauty Of Praise
Hello beautiful souls.
This Sunday I was opportuned to join in the in the backup singing today in my church I could feel the connection while the praise session was on. The service commenced at 9:00 AM sharp with an opening prayer that set the tone for the entire morning.
What came next was the highlight for me the praise and worship segment. This is the part of the service where hearts open voices unite and the space transforms into something deeply sacred. I had the privilege singing alto blending my voice with others to create harmony.
Our keyboardist and other instrumentalists skillfully playing the keyboard provided the perfect musical rhythm. The lead singer brought passion and emotion to every note.
What struck me most about this service was the sweetness of the music it created. Here we were different individuals with different backgrounds coming together in one voice.
The keyboards the microphones the voices of the choir the congregation joining in it all joined together into something beautiful.
As I watched everyone around me engaged in worship I was reminded that these moments of collective spiritual practice are what sustain our faith. They root us.
This Remembrance Sunday has a very vital meaning for me now. Not only does it help us remember important spiritual truths and our connection to faith but it also reminds me to be grateful for:
The gift of voice and the ability to express worship through song.
The community that gathers together in faith
The musicians and leaders who dedicate themselves to creating sacred space.
The simple but profound act of praising together
Gratitude. I'm grateful for that 9:00 AM service. I'm grateful for the opening prayers that centered us.
I'm grateful for the hymns and for the praise and worship time that allowed me to sing my part my alto voice joining the chorus of believers.
These moments these experiences of spiritual communion are what I want to remember. They matter. They shape us. They strengthen us.
Thank you to everyone who was part of that beautiful service to our organist our lead singer our entire congregation. You made it a remembrance Sunday worth sharing.
I would like to invite @bossj23, @ninapenda, and @sampson01 to share their own "Remembrance Sunday" experiences with us.
